Came here for brunch because the original restaurant we wanted to try was actually closed. Wait time was roughly half an hour for 2, no complaints there. They currently have a holiday brunch menu. Tried the chicken and waffles and the hashbrown poutine, along with some of the juices they offered. $6 for the juice that didnt really taste fresh... More

We had brunch at School on Sunday for a party of 8 people. We arrived at 11 am and we were seated at 12:30 pm. School does not allow substitutions on their menu to allow them to be efficient with their service. I understand, but some people in the party wanted their eggs cooked in a certain way and some... School Resto is legendary for their award-winning brunch. There was 45 min line-up on Sunday late morning but it was worth it! The waiter said I was the first one of the day to finish all the flapjacks lol (this was alread past noon as well). We had and recommend both of the following: 1) Black 'N' Blue Flapjacks Stacked... My friend highly recommended School Restaurant for brunch while in Toronto! I am so glad that we did! The food was soo good and filling! first, the restaurant is located in a leas busy area of toronto. plenty of street parking or if not, a municipal lot is across the street. I ordered the super cheesy bacon french toast. my... More

We ended up having brunch here as the place we intended to go had too long a wait, we still had to wait about 45 min to get seated, but it was worth it. The brunch was very good and the decor and atmosphere of the place is very vibrant.

I think it was fate we got in to eat at this place because when we went you need to put your name on a waiting list to get a table. We weren't supposed to get seated but we did- and happily got to finally try this place. The atmosphere and interior is very hip and trendy, there's probably 15... More

French toast with bacon and smothered in cheese, grilled cheese with caramelised onions, snap crackled and pop rolled French toast. Delicious food, good service, nice atmosphere. What more could you want.

We found this on a list of the best breakfast places in Toronto, and we totally agree! There is a limited number of options, but the ones offered are AMAZING. My husband had the Black & Blue Flapjacks: five large pancakes with blueberries and blackberries, brown sugar butter, and real maple syrup. I had the Super Cheesy Bacon French Toast:... More

The cute little restaurant has quirky school-like decor, and although it is very dark inside, it has a unique ambiance and a nice patio, should you be lucky enough to get a spot here. I thought it was strange that water was served with no ice and glasses only filled halfway. Despite having two or three Gluten-free options, the choices... More

Service was phenomenal! I have a peanut allergy that I made the server aware of. The manager came to our table after-the-fact and assured us that all items coming out of their kitchen was peanut-free, which was very comforting. The food did not disappoint. Had the academy, very filling, large portions! Two things to note: the place is quite small,... More

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
The go-to area for new business start-ups, the spry and creative persona of the West End thrives along its streets. Its independent boutiques, galleries, restaurants, and shops offer brands that can't be found elsewhere. Buildings with ground floor consumer spaces sport up-top artist's lofts, and the West End attracts artists, designers, and fashion industry professionals to its living quarters. It is in the cross-hairs of gentrification, but still resisting it with ironic relish. Hot deals can still be found here on furniture and knick-knacks,. Its call to culinary glory is in its well-priced homemade Polish food, hosting Toronto's go-to spots for hot pierogis and cold borscht. High Park, the largest green space in the city, is a place for dreamers and poets to wander and rest, not to mention a number of energetic actors staging outdoor plays in the summertime.
