Popped in last night for dinner with a colleague. Main floor dining room was full by 6pm. Since the upstairs dining/lounge area had just recently opened, we opted to have dinner there. Same excellent, friendly, professional and attentive service as ever. We decided to share our meals....grilled calamari with mixed green salad - delicious, plump, cooked to perfection squid and... Great neighborhood restaurant. Dropped in on $10 pizza Wednesday. Pizza is thin crust and full of flavour. Rosario with homemade sausage is excellent, with a slight hint of heat to make the pizza flavourful. Looking forward to trying more in the future.

We visited Il Sogno last night and were pleased. Although it is a small place and the four men sitting next to us felt a need to share their conversation, we still managed to enjoy the meal. We each had a salad and then shared a pizza. My Caesar was one of the best I have had and my wife's... More

One of my wife and I's favorite restaurants in the city. Great deals, great pizza and most importantly a great tight atmosphere.

We've become frequent patrons of Il Sogno and I've told the staff several times that should I ever end up on death row my last meal would be their grilled calamari! It is the best grilled calamari I've ever had and I never tire of it. Otherwise, the menu is quite extensive and I've liked everything I've had over the... More

Small, cosy, friendly and good food. The prices are good, too. Attentive staff make everyone welcome. This is the kind of place where you are able to dine solo and not feel like you're alone. Pizzas are acceptable but pastas are much better. There are Monday and Wednesday night specials...excellent value. Can't fault the calamari and salads plus affordable wine. Every... More

Cozy and small but the owner is very attentive and the food is fantastic. He recommended the calamari as the best anywhere..and much to our shock he was correct!!

Monday nights they have $10 pasta and Wednesdays are $10 pizza nights. The food is great. It is a small place and it is recommended that reservations are made. Service is ok.

One of my favourite restaurants I've been to. This is a genuine, neighbourhood, local spot which is really hard to find these days. The vibe: cozy, romantic, perfect for a date or girls night. The restaurant is quite small and the waitstaff make you feel right at home. The food: Pizza is delicious. There are other options too and gluten... More

I was visiting from the US, spending time with friends who live in the area, and 5 of us went out for dinner at Il Sogno on a Friday evening (we made reservations - good thing as it was martini night @ $5 per!). What a fantastic experience! The service was excellent, and the food sublime, particularly given the price... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
