There was a blues band playing on the Sunday night when I arrived at the Queen's Inn (where the Boar's Head Inn is located). It was loud, though quite good. Fortunately I had no interest in the sports features on the several TV screens. The fish-and-chips were fine. There was a good selection of national and local draught beer; I... More

We have been having a ball with the Chocolate Trail! At the Boar's Head, we had lunch before our flourless chocolate brownie and ice cream. Our server Frank was a sweetie pie. We enjoyed our Black Swan light beers, Rueben sandwiches, and soup and salad. This is a great place for a tasty pub lunch at a reasonable price.

Disappointing..Service was fast and efficient but choices were restricted. For better "pub grub" we found Molly Blooms near the Avon offered a more interesting menu.

We've been here 3 times in a year but I think we'll go elsewhere. I find it hard when a place is inconsistent. Two of three times they kitchen was slow to get our orders out ( for me that's 20-30 minutes) and once they got it wrong and once they didn't have what we wanted. Only one visit was... More

I ate here twice. One time I had a boar burger and the other was for drinks and apps. I'd go again if I have the chance to visit again.

We stayed at the attached Queens Inn and had a voucher for the Pub. The food was typical pub fare, but the staff was friendly and the prices were good.

The food is great, the service is great. I have never had a bad meal in all the times I have stayed at the Queen's Inn and eaten at the Boar's Head Pub.

Here we have a very very very popular pub. Within the pub is Mel, the most extraordinary of managers, a delight, smart as a whip, funny, dedicated. Next to her is Frank, terrific, and Cristina, woman extraordinaire. These people bust their keisters for you. But sadly, the kitchen is so poor, the food so diabolically bad, that the entire experience... More

My wife and I went on "Wing Night". The place was full, although we were able to get a table quickly. The atmosphere is definitely pub-like. The tables are quite close together, and we struck up a conversation with the two guys at the next table, which kind of added to the experience. The craft beer selection is good, and... More
