Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lola's is so good, and always has been. It's out go-to spot when we can get out. We always get the mussels to start, it's delicious. The hot pot and mussel supreme is always so good too, portions are very generous, we always have leftovers. Great atmosphere and staff. Can't wait until our next date night to Lola's!

Lola’s is located at the southern portion of downtown Sarnia. Formerly a greasy spoon diner, it was bought and converted about 20 years ago. The decor is interesting, with glass fixtures and colors all over, with mirrors on the wall. It’s clearly part of the atmosphere. I had never visited before, so I spent a few minutes just observing it. Sit down at the bar and find out the beer selection is minimal. There is only one tap which rotates; on my visit it was a blonde ale from Sons of Kent out of Chatham. It’s actually a tasty brew. Everything else is bottled, but sadly only a few actual Canadian brews you can’t find on the Michigan side of the border. Has the meatballs and garlic bread appetizer, and it’s very large and filling! From there I went to a stuffed chicken breast with pasta and garlic sauce. It’s so good, cooked just right with the right amount of juiciness. Prices are a bit higher, even converting to USD, but it’s to be expected in a place of higher quality. I would certainly return next time I am in or driving through Sarnia.

What a lovely surprise. We were looking for a nice restaurant and thought we would try Lola's. The place is intimate and booths are separated by think glass partitions. The decor is deep reds and greens. They offered a wide selection of wines and mixed drinks. Our appetizer was a baked brie with nuts, cranberries and fig served with ample crostini --yummy. The special was a fabulous baked Grouper over rice with a cream sauce--spectacular! For dessert we split the Reece's peanut butter cheesecake--perfect!

Will not be going there or ordering from this pace . Order the hot pot Thai extravaganza. On the menu online shows that it cost $35 but the bill came to $50 when I ask why I was told that the extravaganza is $10 bucks more than the regular hot pot Thai which is $29 so it should be $39 not so sure why I was charged 11 bucks extra fee that’s a lot for taxes . Didn’t want to argue since the food was already prepared and pack but this will be the last time . Honesty is very important to me even if the food is delicious you cannot just make up price and up your price and just say that the menu on your page online is not correct . $50 bucks for a hot pot Thai to go it’s a little bit ridiculous.

Well disappointed this time 2 of us had the ribeye.....1 steak was 3/4 grizzle the other was ok Another order was the meatloaf and noodles which was a poor pick the noodles were muss on the plate and meatloaf wasn't good! When I mentioned the steak to the waitress she replied I'll mention it to the kitchen in a flat tone!!! Nothing offered to rectify the complaint. I think with a bill of 260.00 we could have been treated better! Won't go back..

9 people at our table with mixed reviews. If you're thrifty, this restaurant is not for you. My wife and father loved their steaks. My fish special was very good but small with some rice and veg for over $30 and left hungry. It was a full house with few following Covid guidelines.

Ashley and I hĂ ve been together for 18 years, have travelled extensively and eaten in 100s of restaurants, diners and dives. Cocktails were excellent, decor is so much fun. We had the salmon salad and Tania's famous rack of lamb, a recipe born at 99 King St. London in the 80s. Mallory educated us on the menu and made sure we were well fed and 'watered'. Service was consistent, attentive and happy. Everyone helping each other out. Not rushed at all. They turn the tables 2x a night it seems so we reserved at 7pm so we could hang for a couple of hours. Abba was playing at the Imperial down the street so we had some fun company at the bar for cocktails before our sitting. The purple rain martini was excellent. A specialty coffee capped off the night. Superb. We ended up staying for 3 hours. From cocktails at the bar to meeting Tania the owner on the way out who knew my mom, the night was magical. Bill was $186.00 plus 20% tip. Good value for the delectable cuisine. Lola's Lounge was one of our top 10 epicurial experiences post Covid. Keep up the great work Team Lola. Tania I loves your blouse. Ashley you rock my world!

The lobster ravioli was waaaay over salted, and the clam choweder (with mussels, shrimp and scallops) had more potatoes in it than seafood. I paid $17.00 for that chowder and felt I received a very skimpy portion with only 3 shrimp, 2 scallops, 3 mussels and LOTS of potatoes. I was not in the least impressed and must say, I was very disappointed. I'm afraid that will be my last experience with Lola's for a very long time.

This was a first time visit to Lola's and to be honest, when looking at the location on G-maps, was pondering on how it would pan out? Well it was just fine, no, better than fine, it was awesome. Arrived for an 8:00 pm reservation on a beautiful August night and sat very comfortable on the patio that stretches along side the Lounge. Now I question the designation 'LOUNGE' as this is one hell of a fine dining establishment. From the Lobster plate that I had, to the Rack of Lamb that Angie had, plus an assortment of appetizers including $10.00 martinis, everything was delicious and plentiful, the seafood sauces were the best I have had. Cannot say enough about the service and the servers. Was a real pleasure to deal with mature people with roots in New Brunswick, including the owner, who we did not meet.

The food was fantastic. We had the hot pot and bruschetta with chèvre and both were delightful. The service was subpar and unacceptable. Our server was okay but there was another sever helping her and she was horrible. The blonde server that was helping was very rude, grabby, she even tried to take our plates while we were still eating and ripped my fork from my hand to clear the table. She also wiped our table down completely while we were still sitting there and entirely invaded my space forcing me to move so she could continue. While wiping the table she repeatedly brushed crumbs from the table onto my lap! If the service had been better I would go back. When trying to have a nice night out with friends I don’t appreciate being treated poorly by staff. Not likely to return.

We went for lunch after moving back to Sarnia for several years. The other restaurants that the owner had opened previously in the city were always favourites of ours but we had only been once to Lolas. Its such a delight to go to any of the restaurants she's opened. The decor is always unexpected and fun and this was still the same idea here. The food is always different from other restaurants and excelent. we were so pleased to find it still the same idea. We had wine with our meal and our main dish was Thai Hotpot, a favourite of ours and its the best anywhere we've had it. Service was prompt and friendly. The phone never stopped raining for reservations. Very happy to have this place as a "go to" now that we are back.

Great atmosphere and always good service. My husbands steak was very good. Nice and tender and properly cooked. My lobster ravioli was very good, except was way too salty. The food there is always nice and hot and usually tasty. Maybe it’s because I am watching my sodium, but my feet were so swollen by the time I got home, they were uncomfortable. Nice menu selection, fun martinis. We chose a week night to go, but it was still very noisy. But I know they can’t help that.

Stayed overnight in Sarnia. I decided to explore and found this lounge. It is really an interesting place that everyone there seems to locals regulars. Great ambience with a lot of play with the lighting and decor. A very large collection of glass art, presumably by Lola. They make great drinks, good selection of wine and interesting menu. I sat at the bar which I tend to do when traveling alone. I had a great french onion soup and rack of lamb. Nicely done and very tasty.
