Established in 1996, Paddy Flaherty’s interior was designed in Dublin and built in Wexford, Ireland. It was shipped over and reassembled here at Sarnia Bay. The moment you walk through the door, you immediately feel welcome. You’re not just a customer, you’re a friend. Scott has owned and operated Paddy’s for more than 25 years. Great Pet friendly patio - awesome food!

We stopped at this place right by the water to enjoy a meal and a beer with our dog and it was excellent! Great patio overlooking the water and trail, friendly staff who brought water for our dog, cold beer and delicious food (we had the fish tacos and smoked meat grilled cheese. Overall, a great experience which we will do again when in Sarnia.

Tasty food and helpful servers.

This restaurant was recommended by the hotel at which we were staying. The waitress was extremely helpful and recommended different dishes and beverages. The shrimp pasta was delicious and my friends enjoyed both the beef casserole and the beef pie. All were tasty and very filling. Highly recommend this as a restaurant when in Sarnia.

I can't believe this place only has 5 reviews on this platform. Check out Yelp and Open Table. Nick was our waiter. He was so pleasant and on top of everything. He explained any questions we had and made good recommendations. We had the steak and mushroom stew and the Octoberfest special chicken shnitzel. Both were very tasty. I normally don't do many reviews but we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel we are staying at gave us three recommendations. This had the best ratings and it was very close to the hotel, as were the others. We enjoyed it very much and if we ever make it back through this area again we would not hesitate to return. Again, I can't say enough about how Nick made our night enjoyable. I grew up in the restaurant business as my family owned two. I would hire Nick as he is an asset to the company.

Paddy's has steadily deteriorated, and our last dinner there will be our last. Not only was the chicken pot pie lacking in taste and ingredients - next to zero chicken - it was dry with little gravy or sauce - just a lump of pastry essentially. The waitress was informed it wasn't good and that it wouldn't be eaten. She took it away and insisted on offering something else. As I didn't pay the bill, I didn't realize until after that we were charged for the terrible chicken pie as well as the alternative. I approached the waitress with what I thought was an error. She said she didn't think I assumed I wouldn't be charged. At that point, she had already been paid and given a 20% tip. It was not a good experience in any way.

I am terribly sorry about your disappointing experience. We have been challenged with kitchen staff, especially moving into the summer with the volume. Sometimes our summer servers do not handle situations properly. This is the raw truth. Sorry again. We always try to do our best.

Wow! What happened?

Stopped into MacCool's for a lunch after being away since before COVID. Ordered (2) Fish & Chips (one piece) . One Smithwicks Ale Asked if I wanted gravy for my fries (Sure ) and asked for a little additional Tartar sauce. 20% Tip Total $96 CAD ($72 US) Wow.... The kicker was the up charge for @ 1/2c. of gravy $3.00 (2) addition tartar @ 2.oz $1 ea. (We're not talking a bowl full here. The serving size for a McDonalds ketchup paper dispenser cup) One squirt ! WTH Food was good but the bill ruined a good lunch. Pretty insane. Basically 2 pieces of fish some potatoes and 1 ale $96? It's not THAT good. I am really not opposed for spending that kind of money for a VERY nice meal but for a simple and sparse lunch? Come on.....

Terrible fish and chip order

To be fair let me begin by saying that we have ordered fish and chips before from this restaurant (Paddys) and enjoyed them enough to return and order the same,they have a lovely patio especially on a beautiful warm sunny day, but this time it was VERY disappointing . That being said this order of fish was so limp it had to be pulled apart because it could not be cut with a knife .(undercooked,raw?) We are not fussy eaters and don’t normally comment on the food when the waitress checks back and asks how our meal is but this time I just had to comment to which the server apologized (of course not her fault but we wanted to let her know that the cook should be notified how terrible this meal was). Our mistake in hindsight was to not send the order back in the first place rather than partially eat a limp tasteless piece of fish . I would have to rate this as probably among the worst fish I have ever had the displeasure of being served and for the price , well that just made the experience even worse. We will not be back . As a side note the party across from us sent their meal back for one reason or another (don’t know what they had ordered)

A let down

I was told by a few locals this had one of the best beer selections in Sarnia. Maybe it was an off night, but the tap selection at least wasn’t great. Service was OK, nothing special. Thought about food but decided I wasn’t really hungry so I can’t comment on that. I do wish they had the NHL package so I could have watched the Red Wings game, since Bally Sports isn’t available in Ontario. There are many fans of Detroit teams in the Blue Water area, so it would be a good investment. Maybe I’ll give them another shot next time I’m in Sarnia.

Disappointed

Went there the other night, the host told us we could sit at a bench while we waited and my friend and I sat at two do we could sit across from each other, and since there was no one else waiting. The host came over and asked if we could pick one bench or the other because if not he had to ring us out separately.... Not really sure what the logic is behind that but considering no one else was waiting for a bench this was strange. We ordered spinach dip to share and it was like they gave us the bottom of the bag of the chips. There were maybe 6 whole chips and everything else was broken in tiny pieces. The dip itself was good. I got the power bowl which was delicious, no complaints there, but my friend's burger had obviously been sitting for a while based on its appearance and her burger was only slightly warm, with cold fries. Our waitress was very nice, but seems like the kitchen staff was lazy or just didn't care, and the host had a weird attitude. Not into it. Loved MY meal but probably wouldn't go back based on this experience.

Not the Best Fish and Chips

We usually dine here when visiting Sarnia. This time I was very disappointed with the fish and chips that I ordered on a recent visit. The fish was over deep fried so the batter was very hard, the chips okay and coleslaw was sliced dry cabbage. My partner mentioned her Shepard's pie was just okay. We will not return.

Extremely limited Vegan Options

This shows up on a list of vegan food in Sarnia. Well all their salads have meat in them. That about sums it up. Cheese and eggs in nearly everything else. They had a decent veggie burger with fries. But fries as a vegan option is bs.

The location for summer dining/drinks is great with views of the river. Atmosphere inside is unique. Food is good but not great. Over priced chain restaurant (Cara Operations Limited). Service staff is good but the restaurant is poorly managed.

Great Irish Pub

Thank you Nicole K for the great experience and service. The food is as expected for a Irish pub. We enjoyed the Mini Yorkers and Crispy Cauliflower bites. Yummy 😋. I would recommend highly recommend. The establishment is very clean near the waterfront. Clean to hotels.

Good takeout meal

This restaurant was recommended to me because it was close to my hotel. I called to place an order for pickup and it was ready when they said it would be. The food was good (chicken burger and salad) and the server was friendly. I would go back when in Sarnia again.

Great place

We went for lunch and had to wait 35 minutes for a patio table. Our table was in the dog patio but we had no dog. Service was fast and efficient but she didn't wear a mask. I had the grilled bacon chicken burger with fries which was delicious. My friend had stacked chicken burger which was excellent. We would go there again.

Second Visit Turns Out Great

This was our second visit. The first time was to see Shred Kelly perform (a favorite band!). We had dinner then and it was "ok." But this visit, we were in the area and returned for dinner on the patio. Food was excellent. Service was good. Really enjoyed our second visit and would eat there again.
