My family visited the Wild Orchid for a birthday dinner and we were left dissapointed. We tried their rice seafood dish and although it had an okay flavour, it was way to fishy for our liking. We also ordered a pasta which was served cold. The waitress was kind enough to take it off of our bill as we were... More

Excellent seafood, probably the best seafood in Hamilton. The grilled calamari for a starter is amazing. I have had their pork and potato dishes, their sea food platers and their roasted chicken, all were absolutely satiating. I recently ordered their steak option, served with an egg on top of course, I was surprised by the quality of the steak. I... More

Great little restaurant. Food was excellent and piping hot. I had the piri piri chicken which I'd highly recommend. Others in the party spoke equally highly of the various fish dishes. Well worth having the Pasteis de Nata (custard tarts) which are made on the premises. Only downside was that some of the beer was poorly kept. Steer clear of... More

Cod was dry, tasteless and full of bones. It does didn't taste fresh, and I couldn't eat it. When I mentioned that I didn't like it, The manager said that I would still have to pay for the meal and she wouldn't substitute something else. Neither the manager not the server offered even a sorry that you didn't like it.... More

This was my first time to this restaurant. As you walk in the front doors, the restaurant is littered with awards for best seafood, best calamari etc. It was a great sized venue but not very busy on this Tuesday evening around 7. The menu had me salivating from the minute I opened it up. Everything on there sounded so... More

I was craving seafood, and certainly wasn't disappointed! I started with the sardines: simple, rustic and delicious. Then we went for the signature rice sharer for two, and I was amazed at the generosity of the portion size for the money. It was packed with quality, fishy treats! Shelling the shrimps was a bit of a hassle though. Service was... More

A Portuguese restaurant with an outside terrace in a lively location on the east side of James Street North, half a block south of Barton Street. Parking isn't easy in this area, but you can find free space on neighbouring residential streets west of James if you're prepared to walk a few blocks. The restaurant's interior is spacious but spartan,... More
