When we first arrived the hostess placed us in a crowded little area right near the kitchen even though there were empty tables elsewhere. I had made a reservation too. It was cramped and the kitchen expediter was very loud. Knowing how expensive this place...More

Our dinner at The Press Gang was exceptional. The meals were a culinary delight and beautifully presented on the plate. Service was impeccable. Highly recommended for a memorable dinner in downtown Halifax.

Halifax doesn't have to hide in terms of good restaurants to begin with, but The Press Gang definitely ranks among the best. The interior is cozy and welcoming, some of the tables are set up in special places, such as near the mantle or in...More

Having eaten in several of Halifax's 'fine dining' restaurants last week I can quite safely say that the Press gang has by far the best ambience of any. The feeling as one walks through the door is quite special and you know immediately that this...More

We had an excellent experience here in every way. Terrific lobster, cool atmosphere, open kitchen, great live music! All in a historic building. Absolutely, worth it. Reservations necessary.

We had a delicious night at the Press Gang, especially the Sober Island Oysters and scallops! FOOD was AMAZING and DELICIOUS. Hostess unfriendly and lacking personality. Waitstaff were pretty busy, but efficient and supported each other. Overall good night out in Halifax.More
