While on a business trip in Halifax, staying at the nearby Westin, I ordered a chow mein for take-out from this place. The person I talked to on the phone was courteous and even customized my order by making the dish with shrimp, pork and chicken instead of the single meat option from the menu. I went there 10 minutes... More

We decided to eat out and saw the New Asia restaurant which was close to our hotel. We ordered the combination plates for take out so we could eat in our rooms. The food was delicious, hot and there was LOTS of food. The only thing I have to complain about was that they didn't give us any utensils or... More

This restaurant has really great, authentic Chinese cuisine. It has a great selection and lots of options. Many traditional dishes.

Having spent quite some time in Hong Kong and Shanghai I found the food authentic. They cater to a large population of students from mainland China. Try the la-tze-ji spicy chicken. Serves both Cantonese and Northern style Chinese. Wine sold in carafe is good value.

I went alone to this restaurant on a Sunday night. I was the only nonChinese person in the place, a good recommendation. The waiter suggested I order a combo meal from the back (7.95 to 12.95). I ordered C2. Excellent fried rice with tasty, if boney, pork ribs. Loved the sauce. Plus an egg roll. I wish I had a... More

I've ordered the Hot and Sour soup, the worst soup I've ever had. When I got it at the table it was very dark and thick, didn't look like any Hot and Sour soup I've seen and tasted. It tasted like a bowl of salty gravy not exaggerating. I mentioned to the waitress and she told me that's the way... More

The menu is great, but the "specials written and unspoken" are our recommendations. Pork and Vermicelli noodles is a dish you will not forget - unique flavours; and then the northern Chinese vegetable dish, you will wish to eat and eat and eat. Amongst the fried rice dishes, ask for the "Boss's Rice" ... insiders know this is unforgettable. This... More

Having found that my favorite Asian restaurant in town, Koo E Nami (Korean) closed on April 30th (2013), I gave New Asia a try. I ordered Ma Po Tofu (spicy pork and tofu in a brown sauce). It was very fresh, and hot, but swimming in orange oil (grease), like a double peperoni pizza. It was also quite salty. On... More
