We never tire of dining here. The charcuterie platter was amazing. Duck, pate, terrine and sausage: all exquisite. We shared it, and just as well, as it would have been a lot (and so rich) for one. My partner had the poulet roti = superb. I had 2/3 of the prix fix, which comprised pork pieces in a terrine-like slab.... More

I went to Brunch with my friends and was pleasantly surprised to find this gem of a restaurant. One friend ordered eggs Benny, another ordered the tuna salad and I had the Blueberry/banana pancakes. All three of us left pleased with the service, atmosphere and the delicious food. Already I can't wait to go back!

Very affordable restaurant on Argyle Street in the midst of Halifax. All staff speak fluent French if that is important to you. Had the French Onion soup and the Scallops with ratatouille which were both extremely good. Good portion size...did not go away hungry! Jeremy was our pleasant, attentive server with excellent recommendations. Would definitely return!

I took my husband here for his birthday. The atmosphere is wonderful and the service was stellar. The food was excellent- we had duck and scallops. My only complaint would be that the food was a little scant. It was a really good dining experience.

Had a lovely business dinner here mid-week. They have a fairly extensive menu, and in addition to the specials you can order individual items from the table d'hote menu. Service was very good, and the restaurant has a cool ambience but it was easy to hear the conversation. Everything from sandwiches to gourmet seafood was enjoyed by our group.

We came here for the first time for brunch. The atmosphere of the restaurant was awesome and we quickly thought this was an awesome restaurant. The service was really bad. It took 55 minutes for us to get our food, and yes it was good food but not worth waiting that amount of time for it. Will not come back.

Bistro le Coq was an exceptional dining experience. The wait staff speak French as well as English and we enjoyed a lengthy chat with our server who was in Halifax to attend Dalhousie University. Our meal started with an appetizer of Bone Marrow, broiled in the half bone served with Shallot & Blackberry Jam as well as Duck Prosciutto, house... More

A delightful casual restaurant that could be easily missed. Worth the effort to seek it out. Food was great! Their calling card "A Taste of France in the Heart of Halifax", is true.

We just had a delightful diner at Bistro Le Coq. We chose "la table d'hôte" and we're not disappointed. We found it to be "très français". Our waitress Ana was very charming and very helpful in choosing our wine to accompany our meal. Every person serving in this place is French speaking which is an added value for us. Ana... More

I treated a friend to brunch who had not been there before. Her pancakes were amazing as was my steak sandwich. The service was wonderful as usual. It is so great to have a restaurant that you know the food and service will always be consistently great!
