Since I couldn't find a local restaurant open for breakfast in downtown area (it's good Friday today), I decided to come here. Their breakfast menu is very simple such as omelette, pancakes or egg Benedict etc... very North American... however "classic egg Benedict" that I had taste so good. It perfectly cooked and mouth melting... roasted potatoes on the side... More

During our trip to Yellowknife, we wanted to eat at a nice venue one evening, to sample the local brew and try some game. This place was recommended from the front desk at Coast Fraser hotel. Reservations are suggested, as during peak season it may fill up quickly. We started with home baked sourdough bread, and it took us the... More

Great restaurant located inside Explorer Hotel. Offered good size home style cooked meals that didn't fail to satisfy. Good range on menu and was easy to find something to enjoy. Must book for evening meal as can quickly fill up with tour groups as this is their preferred hotel for stays to see the Aurora.

Lots of different food but not my idea of brunch. No oatmeal, porridge or cereals of any kind. I wanted rye bread to go with the smoked salmon and they had no idea what I was talking about (communication could be a bit of a problem sometimes). They did bring toast which was good. I saw someone with dark bread... More

There are only a few high end dining establishments in the city and this is one. The other being the Quarry at Chateau Nova. I went with a lady friend and was really impressed. I had the Chef's Special which was venison while my friend had chicken supreme. Both meals took a while to come out but we weren't in... More

Went Saturday night for the Prime Rib special. I would say it is really good price and good portion and Taste good. With $23 you can have a 8 oz Prime rib and $27 a 10oz. The pic was taken in the 8oz. If you do not want to go out looking for food in the extreme cold weather, this... More

Trader is located inside the Explorer Hotel. We stayed at the Coast Fraser, but ended up going to Traders Grill twice because our first meal was so good. Wonderful service, nice woodsy views and great food.

Tried something new and ordered the Grilled Elk Loin Steak, medium rare. Steak was easy to cut, tender and juicy. Side dish was mash potatoes and vegetables, which were natural taste with no added flavours. Portion is quite big for an Asian, so for me, I just ordered the main course. The Elk Loin Steak seems to be served on... More
