Food was good but the server was awesome, Conner I think his name is. His supreme customer service is a welcome addition to your establishment

When you have been around for 55 years you must be doing something right in the Restaurant business.  We tried the Seafood Platter and an order of 2 pieces of fish and chips knowing we would be taking some of it away with us and such was the case.  Delicious dishes, excellent timely service and reasonable price.  Had the fish... What a better way than to celebrate your birthday than with delicious fish and chips with friends and family. The fish was done perfectly, the chips superb and with a hot cup of tea, couldn't have been better, the staff came around and sang Happy Birthday. I didn't find out till later that my meal was free on my Birthday...Thanks... More

Had to try the original Newfoundland Fish & Chips. It was pretty good. Needed a touch of salt, but otherwise good eats. They didn't have any malted vinegar out for take away though.

Look no further, this hit the spot. I kept it simple and ordered their specialty and I wasn't disappointed. Fish was flavorful and breaded just right. They piled on the French fries. Not complaining but I just couldn't finish everything because the serving was so plentiful. I went for a late lunch, after 1pm, and was seated immediately. Food was... More

Was great for a quick supper. My husband and I shared a three piece with fries and coleslaw and it was enough for us. Very affordable, and the staff were friendly.

This restaurant was highly recommended by people we had met in St. John's so we decided to try it on the last evening of our trip to Newfoundland . Even though it is very popular with locals , the restaurant was nearly empty on a Saturday evening which was quite a surprise ! The place has a mid-sixties look even... More

Ches's is a tradition in St. John's. We liked the fish and chips but on a return trip were disappointed. We found places that were better. The service is good, surroundings attractive.

Stopped by for lunch and ordered the fish and chips. Very tasty and liked the thickness of the batter I find some Fish and Chip places are heavy on the batter to make the offering look more attractive. Not at Ches's. Fries we excellent as well. Will return next time I am in St. Johns
