Caramba Restaurant is celebrated for its inviting atmosphere, complete with comfortable seating and a professional setting that extends to al fresco dining, all at a reasonable cost. While some patrons consider certain menu items pricier, the quality of the cuisine, which includes wood-fired pizzas and gluten-free choices, generally justifies the expense, despite occasional comments about dishes being overly garlicky. The service at Caramba stands out, earning accolades for the staff's attentiveness and personalized care, even when the restaurant is bustling.

This is a great place for happy hour (3 choices off a good range of tapas offerings for $20) and the drinks were $6. The white sangria was lovely, and we had a prime patio spot for people watching. They have a new manager who is very helpful, and our servers were good. We went twice, for dinner and then happy hour the next day - drawn back by the fabulous calamari which is griled, not breaded, and served with an addictive garlic aioli. The manager also has a lovely labrador who acts as an informal doggie host at the front. We also tried the Scotch egg (deep fried with a runny centre), a pasta dish, and some prawns. All very nicely done. But the calamari is the star!

Our family of three dined here over the crowded President’s holiday week. We were offered the choice to wait for a table or immediately be seated and dine at the bar top overlooking the kitchen. We chose to sit at the bar overlooking the kitchen and it was the best show in the house. Kudos to all the kitchen staff, they made delicious food with exquisite presentation at a rapid pace, absolutely loved everything we ordered. Our server was Bryony and she was fabulous!! She spoke with the chef regarding a special request for mushrooms and I was delighted with the sautéed mushrooms (off menu) I received. Thank you to the kitchen and Bryony for an excellent meal. We will absolutely be back next time we visit Whistler.

Cory did a great job of looking after us. Caramba is a great restaurant with generous portions of Italian food and felt like one of the most reasonably priced sit down options in Whistler village. Cory's recommendations made the meal even better than anticipated. Everything was delicious.

Prior to ordering a $35 Caesar, I checked with our server to make sure there was no horseradish in the drink, as I know that can be a common ingredient which I do not prefer- Our server assured me there was no horseradish. The caesars arrived and after one look at the floating white chunks of horseradish, and a quick taste to confirm, my partner spoke up and said something. The server didn’t seem concerned that she had made a mistake, and there was no follow up. We asked for the bill, and while I paid for my $35 Caesar, she avoided commenting on my still full drink. As someone who works in the industry, if I notice that a customer doesn’t finish their food or drink, I would be concerned and asking if there was anything wrong, or anything else I could bring them. People make mistakes, and there’s nothing wrong with that, but those mistakes should be repaired. Very disappointed with our service here today.

People go on about the calamari but it wasn’t awesome. It’s grilled and greasy, not fried and they give you a tiny amount for a huge price. This place was expensive for what you get, and the service was so lack luster, the servers seem tired and annoyed. I wonder why I didn’t get take out. From somewhere else. Wont be back here.

We went there for an early dinner on a Wednesday at 4:20pm. Happy hour is from 3-5pm. We were promptly seated and were able to quickly order several items from the happy hour menu. Food and drinks were delicious, but at about 4:50pm our server stopped coming by our table. Other servers didn’t seem interested in us even though we were craning our necks looking for our server to order more drinks before the end of happy hour. Not one server stopped to ask us if we needed anything. At 4:59pm we finally gave up and flagged down the owner/manager (we think) and asked if we could order a glass of white wine from the happy hour menu. He told us Happy hour was over and gave us a regular drink menu instead. We understand that the restaurants in Whistler have had a rough go and profits during “happy hour” aren’t as high as during peak dining hours, but how about a little customer service especially since we had been trying to get our server for the past 10 minutes. Never mind the fact that we were still not at 5:00pm, the lack of flexibility on the part of this so called manager/owner is unbelievable in the restaurant/hospitality industry. The experience left a bad taste in our mouths and we will NOT be recommending this place to any of our friends. To anyone that finds this review helpful, please be weary of this restaurant or lower your expectations on the level of service.

This is a great restaurant, we sat at a table with a view of the kitchen at first we thought that wouldn’t be great but watching the guys at work was amazing, the food was excellent and the whole team in the kitchen looked focussed, worked really well together and looked like they were having a great time. We had the restaurants version of Brushcetta which was awesome, then we had the Rigatoni and the Pork Loin, both also amazing we then shared a pecan pie for desert which was a great way too finish the meal, they have a good variety of quality wine by the glass and the service was also really good. We highly reccommend

Efficient service. Friendly staff. Mac n cheese had a mustard taste so my son wouldn’t eat so I asked for some plain pasta - another $12 which seems steep for a cup of pasta! The prices we were charged didn’t match the menu prices either only 50c or so more on each kids drink and top up but that’s still 50% on a $1 top up!! My salad was nice, scallops a bit bland and only 5 to the dish- sprouts tasty, the thrice cooked chips were definitely very cooked.

Dear Frost007, Thank you for the feedback. “Average is certainly not a word that we would like to be described with. I’m sorry that you did not enjoy our Mac & Cheese recipe (we do add a touch of mustard to the Mornay Sauce (cheesy béchamel) that is used in this dish. Upon reviewing our menu prices I did not find prices that did not match what appears on the bill. Please feel free to send me a quick note at guillaume@carambarestaurant.com. Hopefully we can get in touch. Warm regards, Guillaume Noel - General Manager

The evening before departure after 5 fabulous days skiing/ boarding in Whistler, we visited Caramba for our last dinner. I was there with my 2 eldest sons and 2 grandsons and on the menue we found everything to fit all’s taste from Vegitarian, Pasta to Steaks. Our server was Bryony, a wonderfull person who gave us the perfect service possible. The food was perfect also and on behalf of our group from Iceland, Caramba is highly recommended for their perfect service and good food 👍

A busy but welcoming restaurant with a relatively small but interesting menu. Our server, Kim, was cheery, friendly, attentive and very helpful; she made us feel so welcome. Guided by Kim, we chose steak, bison and scallops and we were not disappointed, the food was faultless. A great night was had by all.

We’re a little wary of being ripped off in tourist resorts and Trip Advisor reviews pointed us here. We’d echo another recent review: Friendly service, four great dishes (calamari, chopped salad, Brussels sprouts and broccolini), local craft beers, and a good patio in prime resort location. Fantastic and we’d definitely go back.

Probably my favourite restaurant in Whistler… I live in Vancouver and only come up a couple times a year (which I have to increase but back to the review)...I come to Caramba every single time I come up. The atmosphere is exactly what I’m looking for. The location is perfectly situated in the heart of the village and the menu is not a standard chain restaurant but more gourmet and specialized. I always get the pizzas but the short ribs are amazing and the wine list is excellent as well. Super professional staff which is not always the case in restaurants in the area but I find very reliable at this establishment. I come alone, I come with the wife, I come with the kids. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a great meal before or after skiing.

As red wine lovers, we don't usually order the house wine. Happy to say, we were surprised and impressed with Caramba's house red of the same name (which is made specially for the restaurant in Spain). The food was fresh, simple and delicious (try the wood-fired pizza topped with prosciutto and arugula) and the service was warm and friendly. Thanks to Jody for taking the time to chat about all things Whistler as we dined al fresco on the patio.

I celebrate my birthday in the summer and for the 3rd year in a row, I requested we go to Caramba in Whistler for Happy Hour and swim and relax at a hotel. Caramba's patatas bravas are my absolute favourite and this year they seemed extra crispy and even better. We always order the rose sangria and multiple happy hour appies. We also added the tagiatelle pesto pasta this year and it was soooo good!! Highly recommend, and sit on the patio so you can people watch from a safe distance. They also did an amazing job at serving us with masks, and distance, so we felt comfortable and could have fun while dining on the patio. Almost forgot to add - we went back the next night to get take-out pizza to bring back to the hotel, and while all the pizzas were good, the crispy lamb was our favourite!

Every visit to Whistler requires multiple visits to Caramba's! 3 times in 4 days on this trip. Can't say enough about their food, their absolutely on point service and resonable menu prices..Also hit up their happy hour. The amazing staff that took care of us was Juliet, Eva and Cory.
