This hotel was very helpful and was able to accommodate our requests on arrival. The hotel was clean and reasonably priced as well as very friendly. We ate in the bar as well as the restaurant and the food was good and reasonably priced.

Very flavorful food at very good prices. The menu has a variety of traditional favs as well as a selection of unique choices including a variety of eggs Benedict. The prices are great and our waitress was super friendly. My only minor criticism is that they appeared understaffed so our waitress looked and acted a bit overwhelmed.

We ate here for dinner and enjoyed everything about it. The service was very good, the food was tasty and lots of it, and the atmosphere was art deco - very comfortable. We had the dine around $20 special, which is a 3 course meal. You get to choose from a limited menu as a result but were pleasantly surprised... More

We tried to get in the pub but it was very full and quite loud so we chose to eat in the restaurant. I had the $20.00 Three Course Dinner Menu. It was excellent. The halibut was very good and the chocolate lava cake was great. Would definitely eat here again.

When I lived in this neighbourhood, I ate at both the pub and restaurant countless times. On a recent visit back to Victoria, my husband and I stayed at the JBI and both mornings of our stay, at breakfast at the restaurant. Large portions, tasty food, and reasonable prices. Sunday morning was very busy. It's a local favourite. Highly recommend.

We were in Victoria for a few days and enjoyed our 1st breakfast at this restaurant so much, we had a 2nd breakfast here the next day! The first day we each ordered veggie omelets. They were wonderful! Made with 3 free ranged eggs and served with homemade home fries and toast. The serving was so generous, we thought we... More

The pub and restaurant are located in the James Bay Inn. Has the feeling of being your local watering hole and eatery. I visited both the restaurant and pub while staying at the hotel. Food and drinks are great and the serving staff were wonderful. If you are in the neighborhood its worth a try.

We ordered the appy of stuffed mushroom caps for $14.00 and were very disappointed. The Mushrooms were just slices or halves of small mushrooms rather than full caps however the shrimp sauce was good. NOT worth $14.00 for sure. I ordered the prawns stirfry and there were 6 nice sized prawns but the rice I believe was instant rice, and... More

Ate here for lunch and very convenient because we were staying in the Inn part. All you do is go down the stairs and your in. I had the chicken fajita and it is big enough for two people.

Food is good, reasonably priced, and generous. It's not fancy, but it's not a diner either. The place has been there for years, with good reason. Many of the clientele are older, but that only means they know a good deal when they find it. Check it out - you will leave full of good food.
