Met some friends here, including one in a wheelchair. Right from walking in the door, we were made to feel welcome & nothing was too much trouble. We so enjoyed our relaxed fine dining experience. Some tasty breads to start. I had the halibut, mmmm,...More

Three of us had an early dinner before going to the theater. I do mean early - 5:45 reservation (to be on the safe side). We ordered 2 appetizers to share the crudites and the bacon wrapped scallops. Both were wonderful. I had the mussels...More

When Chambar first opened years and years ago, it was billed as a Belgian bistro serving mussels and frits and other delights. Since then, the menus have been evolving and now, the lunch menu offers mezzes, Moroccan-inspired dishes, and delightful desserts that hint at North...More

My husband and I wanted to eat at Jam. But, there was an hour wait. We were told, by others standing in line, that thee was seating at Chambar which was only a few steps up the street. Upon entering, we liked the eclectic feel....More

Met up for drinks and dinner pre-concert. Location to Rogers and the patio environment were perfect for our group of 4. Drinks were nice, food quality ok to good (mussels were the highlight for sure!) but server was disappointing. Questioned colleague about a 'real' food...More

Chambar was highly recommended by the host at our nearby Airbnb for a delicious Belgian breakfast so we trotted off merrily for the five minute walk to our Sunday brunch this weekend. Our party of four was quickly seated at 9:00- tables were available both...More

At first I was disappointed that I could not get in Jams due to the wait so we went to Chambar next door. I still love Jams but I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with Chambar. My Omelette was very unique since it was a...More

Famous for their waffles, which can be added to any order as they are a smaller size. Tried both the salted caramel and mixed berry compote- really good! Ordered the Bon Matin which was only disappointing due to its size- one piece of prosciutto and...More

This place was a lot bigger than I realized, and it's always hopping! Such a good brunch menu--generous portions with fresh ingredients. We added waffles to start, even though they weren't needed, just because of the appealing sauces--and those were excellent, too! If you want...More

Stopped here for an early dinner. Restaurant has a patio, but we elected to eat inside since it was a little crowded. Loved the brick and wood interior with marvelous lighting, could not have been prettier. We both had the moules frites, every bit as...More

A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and
stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of
being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many
plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell
the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's
history a more lively presence here than anywhere
else. Having been originally founded around a popular
worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of

There is no formal dress code however they work their butt off in putting quality food in the plate and offer professional service so my philosophy is to not 'underdress". I had a suit no tie.

We make our bread fresh daily inhouse, if you can let me know the date you were in, and describe what you had and I'll see if I can get you a recipe. The starter is 40 years old and not something we can share.
