I can see that the Blue Water Cafe gets uniformly great reviews, but that was not exactly our experience. The room was crowded and lively, but also quite noisy. The four men at the table next to us were loud and drunk. We began by asking for the sommelier because the wine list is encyclopedic. He would stop by as... More

Our daughter treated us out to dinner last night to this restaurant she had been once before. Our Waitress, Tara was awesome. We were amazed how she could rattle off every special in detail and made sure we knew how our food was prepared. The Char, Salmon and Sablefish were delicious. The Spicy Tuna Rolls and Dragon Rolls were a... More

Blue Water has become our "go to" spot for every special occasion. Specifically, for my father who is difficult to please, Blue Water is the restaurant he consistently leaves happy from. This visit was to celebrate my father's 50th birthday. We were pleased to be given our regular table with the kindest wait staff. Our waiter was friendly and showed... More

We chose Blue Water Cafe for NYE 2017 upon the recommendation of the Trip Advisor community and it lived up to expectation. The oyster selection was outstanding and the sushi rolls were both crispy and soft with lots of flavor. I had the Sablefish cooked in miso with edamame and quinoa which was light and delicious. My son tried the... More

Blue Water Cafe is definitely a restaurant worth experiencing. We visited on a Thursday evening with another couple; our reservation was for 8:30 and we were promptly seated upon arrival in one of the private dining rooms with a vast wine collection. The restaurant and main dining room was full and bustling with activity and would have been an experience... More

Love their spring rolls. Totally different from all the others I've tried so far. Even it's shape is different as compared to a roll, it's like patties. Their Sub is good but could use more chilies to add some heat!

This is a fine dining experience. Nice ambiance, great service, great food. Everything you want when you make a reservation for a date night. We shared a seafood tower and I had the sable fish which was perfectly executed in temperature, texture, taste, and presentation. We left happy and full. Would definitely return for another meal when I visit Vancouver again.

Staying in Yaletown & False Creek North

Neighbourhood Profile
Yaletown & False Creek North
Yaletown has risen from the ashes of its rough-and-tumble industrial past into one of Vancouver's new chicest neighbourhoods. The place responsible for originating of the phrase 'skid row' might not call to mind independently-owned boutiques and terraced cafes, but having swallowed the waterfront lines of False Creek North, the resulting amalgamation transformed the area into an elegant, stylish hotspot with a view. Its youthful vibe owes to the many young families and young professionals who live there, bolstering nightlife and restaurant variety along its cobbled streets. It is the flagship neighbourhood for modern revitalization, and the It-Spot for boutique hotels and modish eats.
