After a long walk around Stanley Park we stumbled upon the Banana Leaf. Fresh ingredients and enticing menu did not disappoint. As a type 1 diaberic the chicken lettuce wraps with a side order of Naan bread was perfect. So happy we decided to stop.

This is a consistent place for those who are looking for a funky looking, friendly, good eating place. The food is tasty, the ingredients are fresh and the service is fast and friendly. You can ask for a less spicy dish and they will make to order. Very accommodating. Good place to go with a friend or to dine alone.

We had the set menu with matching wines. Everything was mouth-wateringly delicious but my favourite was the beef rending. Staff were very efficient and friendly. We went at about 5:30 pm on a Sunday and it was heaving by six. I don't know if you can book but if you can I would advise you to do so.

My husband and I enjoyed dinner out at this beautiful restaurant! I had Singapore laksa soup & my husband had curried spinach with coconut rice! Both of our meals were delicious! Service was great and it was a romantic atmosphere for a date night out with my husband! We will definitely visit again!! 👍👍

Sure, you could eat the "World's Best Wings" or clog your arteries with 'food' at the Fat Burger nearby. Your triple by-pass surgeon will thank you for dodging those land mines and planting yourself down instead at Banana Leaf. Good food. Cute little restaurant. Good atmosphere. Enjoy!

We tried this restaurant as it was close by and presented well. We were lucky to get a table as people kept coming in. The meal was full of flavour and very quick. The flavours are very clean and mouthwatering. The main meal was a pork dish that just fell of the bone and then tantalised your taste buds. The... More

I had eaten here before some time ago, and not much has changed. Still good flavours, nice presentation. Authentic cuisine (I've been to Malaysia). BUT- don't expect the world. They offer a couple of inexpensive lunch specials, but I was shocked that the size of portion was so meagre. And not that inspired either. So while others were ordering $16-20... More

The eight course dinner was a nice entry point into Malaysian cuisine. The salad was the highlight, but the satay was excellent as were the ribs. The salmon was a bit overdone.

We ate in this restaurant once ( never discovered it before) and it was just amazing food and value. Nice ambiance to the restaurant also. Staff were really friendly. We had never eaten this type of food and we enjoyed every second of it. I will make this a stop each time I visit Vancouver for sure.

Highly recommend this place. They also have a location on Broadway. Both places are great to eat. I recommend trying the eggplant and basil dish and the Nasi Goreng rice dish, so delicious.

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
