Been heading to the "drive" several times and I pass by it always saying we should try this, finally did. It was very good and tasty. We sat on the patio and service was ok, wasn't great and the waitress didn't seem to interested. Drinks are decently priced but some are over priced. My wife and I had the fritters... More

Spent another fabulous evening at FETS Whiskey Kitchen yesterday. The veal shepherds pie and chocolate whiskey cake were delicious and Eric paired an amazing single malt scotch with each. The perfect place to spend an evening with great food, drink and friends. My fav spot in Vancouver!

If you like a wee dram or six, Fet’s is the place to visit. They have been in business for around 30 years and, as per their website, they LOVE Whisky and even cook with it! From a Whisky perspective they have a few, nearly 800 from over 100 distilleries, including over 200 cask strength single barrel Scotch Whiskies bottled... More

"Open table" app got my group 'no waiting' seating ahead of small line. The line in itself a good sign of things to come. Hostess and waitresses very attentive. Whisky flights and whisky selections are 'off the chain'. My usual Mojito did NOT disappoint. Cheese mac, steak bites appetizers-mouthwatering. Main course meals were very delicious. We like our meats cooked... More

Fets is usually a bit too busy for my taste, but on weekday afternoons it has an easy-going comfort level that anyone would appreciate. The space itself would suit a range of different tastes--there are tables, booths and an great outdoor patio that is protected enough to be comfortable in all but the worst weather. Rarely do I partake of... More

I went there with a buddy on the weekend. Fortunately, was able to get a seat without reservation. Our waitress was friendly and very knowledgeable about whiskey, she spent the time and was not in a rush to explain about some different whiskeys. I ate the Tex Burger or something like that. It was was pretty good, came on a... More

I have been a few times for drinks and appies and its been fine, they have an amazing collection of whiskey. Brunch is weak though. The eggs benny came cold, on soggy bisquik biscuits. The hollandaise sauce flavour is good but was actually chilly. Sadly the waitstaff doesn't care, Im sure the kitchen doesn't either. Too bad. If they just... More

It was hard not to try on or two whiskeys but we showed restraint and ordered fish tacos and a salad with Brussels sprouts. Both were delicious. And the whiskey menu-book was a good read.

This would be a great dinner and drinks location for a group of people or a casual night out. Service was friendly and efficient. All five of us thought that our meals and appetizers were well above average. While not cheap, I thought the prices were very reasonable considering the high quality of the food. They have a good selection... More

We have been here a 3 or 4 times for breakfast/brunch and have put up with the long wait because the food is pretty good but went again this weekend and ended up walking out before our food came. Waited & waited as usual and then the chef (maybe the owner) came to our table to tell us they had... More

Staying in Commercial Drive

Neighbourhood Profile
Commercial Drive
Commercial Drive, also called "The Drive," comprises of twelve sauntering blocks of modest and unfussy counter-culture. Straddling the line between sophisticated and unadorned, it is favoured by students, artists, writers, designers, and start-ups, and suffused throughout with a healthy off-beat counter-culture. The kind of neighbourhood which well-springs thought-revolutions and has the odd bit of self-aware graffiti, Commercial Drive has resisted gentrification in favor of continuing to build a thriving den of affordable multiculturalism. Once known as Vancouver's "Little Italy," it has also been the immigration point for Guatemalans, Hondurans, and Portuguese to the city. The resulting hodgepodge makes for poetry readings in espresso cafes, social debates in early-open bakeries, and eco-activism posters pinned up in the many multi-ethnic markets in the area. Commercial Drive is where you go to feel like a local, and if you have them, bring the kids – The Drive has a number of bookshops, toy stores, and attractions to get them involved too.
