Don't expect an apology from anyone when they make a mistake. "I'm sorry" is not part of their vocabulary. If you're not happy about something, expect an argument. The food is overpriced and the portions are small. The staff seem bored and depressed. There's a heavy, dark aura in this place. All they care about is making money. They are... More

I have lived in East Vancouver and was really surprised I hadn't noticed this place before. I am always on the hunt for healthy food and healthy alternatives to a modern diet. The place is small but has everything you need. I had the ceasar salad, a sandwich, and some fresh juice. I also bought some crackers, a peach, and... More

We had just spent a week on a cruise, and all we wanted was simple no thrills food. A lack of carbs would be a bonus. We were drawn to this place, vegetables and none were over cooked, in fact they were no cooked at all. How good is that? We left satisfied and our insides were so pleased. We... More

My husband and I were in Vancouver running the BMO race. Being vegan we wanted to try this cafe. This place is not to be missed for anyone wanting fresh, local organic vegan food. We shared the kale curry salad which was amazing. My husband had the Mexican wrap and I had the raw zucchini noodle pad Thai. It was... More

We ate here every day for their wonderful vegan dishes and fresh juices and smoothies. I always go home feeling better than when we came and wish we had a place like this at home. Great staff and great atmosphere as well as a fresh produce section of lots of goodies for sale. Love this restaurant!

Eternal Abundance Vancouver on Commercial Drive is a all organic vegan grocery and cafe. This little gem has a bit of everything - maybe except a friendly smile! The woman at the counter is a standoffish. The food on the other hand is delicious. There are hot soup, amazing salads and vegan pasta dishes. If you are looking for fresh... More

Don't be deceived by the lingering hippie ethos and slightly ramshackle room - the quality of the raw food prepared at the bar at the back of this shop is as good as it gets, never mind the fact that it is entirely raw and the ingredients organic. If you are in the Commercial Drive area and want to eat... More

Staying in Commercial Drive

Neighbourhood Profile
Commercial Drive
Commercial Drive, also called "The Drive," comprises of twelve sauntering blocks of modest and unfussy counter-culture. Straddling the line between sophisticated and unadorned, it is favoured by students, artists, writers, designers, and start-ups, and suffused throughout with a healthy off-beat counter-culture. The kind of neighbourhood which well-springs thought-revolutions and has the odd bit of self-aware graffiti, Commercial Drive has resisted gentrification in favor of continuing to build a thriving den of affordable multiculturalism. Once known as Vancouver's "Little Italy," it has also been the immigration point for Guatemalans, Hondurans, and Portuguese to the city. The resulting hodgepodge makes for poetry readings in espresso cafes, social debates in early-open bakeries, and eco-activism posters pinned up in the many multi-ethnic markets in the area. Commercial Drive is where you go to feel like a local, and if you have them, bring the kids – The Drive has a number of bookshops, toy stores, and attractions to get them involved too.
