Staff, especially Andy, who's first night it is from Toronto, are all great! Food atmosphere and venue are all worth coming to. Good meal, generous portions and clean place. Loved it.

This place gets crowded but go during happy hour and sit at the bar if you can to get seated faster. The wait for a table can be longer. The oysters at $1.40-2.25 a piece I believe were wonderful as were the drinks. The service...More

I've been a couple of times and the food has been delicious, fresh and served by superbly friendly staff. And the patio is perfect for a summer spot of brunching with friends.

I visited here for the first and last time. It seems a popular spot, busy with a vibrant atmosphere. I had calamari which I personally found very tough and did not enjoy. I ordered a glass of red wine and was horrified to be given...More

I had what turned out to be brunch at Chewie's and wish there was something between "average" and "very good" to rate it. The food was very tasty, I had hoped to try their Oyster Po'boy, as listed on the menus they gave us, and...More

Had a great informal meeting here with some great people . Staff are awesome and the food is delicious. Definitely making the drive from Tsawwassen again to sample some more items from this menu!

Both Chewies are good, the one here by Kits Beach on Yew, and the other down at Coal Harbour. A buck an oyster for the locals (and why eat anything else), and a good price on local beers from the tap. The menu leans to...More

My husband and I were staying in the area and love the vibe of Yew street in Vancouver. We happened upon Chewies and thought we'd give it a try. The servers were efficient and friendly, the atmosphere was casual and a tad noisy. We enjoyed...More

We had a great dinner, casual dinner. The food was delicious, the service was prompt, and we enjoyed the energy of the people there. By the way, the Chewies that I am reviewing is in Kitsilano (mispelled above).

I've been here twice for brunch now and both times left super happy. I highly recommend the chicken and waffles and if you're going to make a Sunday Funday out of it - order the bottomless mimosas...because bottomless mimosas, need I say more!

Kitsilano
Kitsilano is one of Vancouver's most transformative
neighbourhoods. With a long history of coffee culture
and poetry readings, its days of flower children and
buskers may be long-gone, but not without leaving
their mark on the number of organic restaurants and
fair-trade cafes in the area. At the centre of
Kitsilano ("Kits" for short) the almost idyllic
expanse of Kits Beach offers the opportunity for a

Either casual or business casual are fine. You won't be out of place either way. We've been there a few times and there have been both very casually dressed tourists/locals as well as people who are a bit dressed up and who... More

Description
The Chewies Crew (or Krewe de Chew as we like to say) is a loud, fun group of highly skilled shuckers & chefs proudly known as Vancouver’s experts on quality oysters, seafood and New Orleans inspired soul food. Our menus at both locations, Chewies Kitsilano & Chewies Coal Harbour, boast a variety of seafood and traditional dishes like classic gumbo, jambalaya, southern fried chicken and local Salt Spring Island mussels cooked to order in our unique steam bars. We pour a wide selection of award winning, locally brewed craft beers, delicious hand crafted French Quarter cocktails and wines from around the world, with special attention to BC wine makers. The buzz and energy that fills our restaurants will leave you feeling 'Super, Wicked, Awesome' our three favourite words, other than 'Steamed, Stewed or Nude' of course. Join us for your own personal Chewies experience just a stone’s throw away from the Pacific Ocean.
