I love Trafiq for solo visits or lunch with a friend. Nice selection of items, including a daily soup and sandwiches made with their own bread. Then there is the sublime layer cake selection and other sweets..This bakery is ALWAYS crowded, with a SMALL number of tables to sit at, a few are communal... I NEVER arrive at lunch, because... You can make your own sandwich. Choose their butter croissant with veggie option or BBQ turkey or chicken. Desserts are incredible specially their carrot cake & chunky monkey which is bread pudding with banana & chocolate chips. It's always busy, so it's hard to get a seat, but it worth to wait. Make sure you buy some desserts for later... More

How often does Snowcopalypse happen in Vancouver, hardly ever! Yet our local French cafe & bakery is open,!serving delicious gourmet coffee to snow warriors and the incredible chunky monkey, my favourite treat which is like a chocolatey bread pudding loaf, yum!

in town for the whitecaps game and decided to explore a different part of vancouver rather than our usual strolls through downtown. VERy fun area along main st., many spots to pop in and browse and stop for a bite to eat. we had a chocolate cookie here, told it has double the chips most cookies have, delicious! my husband... Walking through the area in from the U.S. Found this little bakery and (although my sister couldn't eat ANYTHING in the entire store due to her nut allergy and the bakeries inability to separate out their nut/non-nut items) the rest of our group found the vittles AB-FAB and scrumptious :) Kelli

I ordered the chocolate passionfruit cake after a friend was raving about it. I picked it up a few days later and bakery itself is bright and beautiful. It was fairly busy, but not too packed, and the tables were spacious and the room wasn't too loud. All the food looked great and fresh, and the cakes were beautifully decorated.... More

I was lucky to have an Americano and Apple turnovers for my light lunch before doctor appointment, I love it! I wish I could stay longer to order more next time ;)

I was surprised that the café closed at 6pm on a Friday night. The staff let us stay past that though but I felt guilty. I have become addicted to their lemon tarts and coffee. The calories are worth it.

Trafiq is a small street cafe on Main. It features sandwiches & soup, baked goods and espresso. You can get a bite, a sweet and coffee for less than $15 average. Very casual - order at the counter & then find a seat. I highly recommend it for a quick bite when cruising Main Street. One of my favourite sandwiches... More

The staff had trouble following my sandwich order - it came grilled and with lettuce, neither of which were requested. The quiche was horrific, more like custard on a crust. The desserts looked really tasty, and it definitely looked like people were enjoying them. I would come back for dessert, but nothing else.

Staying in South Main

Neighbourhood Profile
South Main
South Main, or SoMa, is a neighbourhood in upswing. Inhabited by young humanitarian professionals in converted lofts and studio apartments, what was once an industrial centre is now a wellspring of vintage and eco fashion shops, contemporary sawdust-floor galleries, craft beer joints, and basement acting studios. All set to an Art Deco background with a strong blue collar sensibility underpinning each new pop-up and foodie trend, SoMa is on the rise.
