We were staying at the Ramada next door. On this particular night the dj was playing good ol' alternative music. Our service was great, being a Friday night, we didn't have to wait. The décor was beautiful and eclectic.

Great spot on Grandville for a drink and some pretty good eats. We loved the fire place and the ambiance, the music was good. We were very surprised by the food to be honest, we didn't go to eat but after a few drinks we decided to check out the menu, the two dishes we shared were really good.

I used to love this place and after recently moving back to Vancouver I expected I would start calling this place my local. To be honest it's still a cool spot in terms of decor and the general vibe but the staff are brutal...disappointing since I like the place. One or two of them were really great but there was... Yes it is dark, yes the music is loud, it is a genuine and beautiful rock and roll bar. The food is definitely above average for a pub and there is a great selection of whiskeys and beers.

Cosy pub on Granville st serving good food. It is furnished as old British style, only 5 minute walking from Vancouver downtown. Short menu, in typical pub style with soup, salad, and burgers of course. Good beer selection. Service: poor and very unfriendly

As the ramada hotel was less than good we were dubious about having their recommended breakfast but in the end for convenience sake we decided to try it. The place is very quirky and a pub and not what we would expect for breakfast but the food was really good and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The waitress was very helpful... More

Went here for dinner and didn't know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised by what we received, the wait staff were helpful the decor was quirky but the music was good and the food was even better. We ordered the fish and chips and teriyaki wings, loved the vintage looking plates.

We had drinks there in the evening and they were fine as well as the service. But the next day we had breakfast and the service and food were not good.

The music is usually a throw back to the late 90's which we love. The beer is pretty cheap, and they stay open later than most the other pubs in the neighbourhood. Seems a bit rundown, but that is all part of the charm.

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
