We were a group of 8 going to see a play at Granville Island. The time was getting a little tight so we all rushed to pay our bills. Unfortunately, not everyone noticed the 18 percent gratuity automatically added to the bill and nobody was told that this would be added. I think this is a very deceptive practice. And,... More

Stopped in to have a little fish and chips. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. The take out window was closed but they sat us at the bar and took our order anyway. So I had a local beer and chatted with a few ppl at the bar. We looked around and found they sold local goods from local... More

We were there for brunch. The menu was interesting and the quality of the food was excellent, but we couldn't help but think that the food was overpriced, even compared with downtown brunch places like Chambar or Jam.

The atmosphere is always great here. The service was stellar, and I was perfectly happy with what I ordered. The poached egg was on avocado (without the toast) was perfect. The server was very nice and accommodating. I also had the Rum Runner Cider, which was a real treat.

We came here after a suggestion and were not disappointed. We were seated straight away by a window, seating is abit tight however that did not distract us much. Our charming server gave us water and suggested wines and specials of the day. The menu is not huge, but the quality of food is excellent and decent size portions that... More

We ate here twice on our recent trip to Vancouver...once for brunch and once for dinner. Both experiences were superb with great service, incredible food, great drink selections, and I loved the hand-made ceramic plates everything is served on. You can't go wrong with this place.

I found the brunch menu limited and a bit overpriced. A bit snooty too - maybe just me as others seem to enjoy. Dinner might be better ....

Staying in Granville Island & Fairview

Neighbourhood Profile
Granville Island & Fairview
One of the favoured neighbourhoods for a day out, Granville Island's packed theatres and art studios, hobby shops and book stores, restaurants and bars, all offer a plethora of activities and entertainment options, leaving no one bored. The highlight of the area is the Fisherman's Wharf, where the seagulls overhead and the smell of the sea invigorate its many visitors, some of who are there to shop the fresh wares at the public market, and others of whom have arrived to take in the eclectic atmosphere. A popular seafood destination, and Vancouver's leading spot for improv and amateur theatre, Granville Island is an indulgent, welcoming entertainment centre in any season or time of day.
