Gas town is a busy and yes expensive district of Vancouver upon entering the precinct from the transit hub to the west there are a multitude of expensive places where a beer and a wine will set you back a lazy $40 which was more than our meals wines and beers were at this cosy little place. Yep they were... More

Part of the price is the location- right on water street in the middle of Gastown. I had the fish in chips which were ok. The seasoning on the fries was better than the fish. They served good portion sizes and the staff was friendly. Its a little fancier inside so i assume they are busiest in the evening. If... More

Stopped in here during happy hour (half price appies/drink deals) because we were super hungry. Ordered edamame and chicken strips with fries. Edamame was fine, but the fries seemed like they were fried, cooled, then refried to heat them up. Service was fine - could have been more attentive - but you definitely just get what you pay for.

My husband and I were in town from Seattle for the weekend. We stopped in for dinner on a Sunday night. We were seated right away and ordered quickly. Our food arrived promptly. The food was not good. The server came by once after a long time and refilled our drinks. After a long time she came back and got... More

Really disappointing. Although a nice spot with alfresco dining, there was almost no fish in my "fish" and chips. After we were served no one came back and I had to hunt down someone to cash us out. I would not go back.

The bartender seemed nice enough - he was quick to drop off our menus and ask what we'd like to drink. After waiting 30 minutes for him to return though we decided to head somewhere else. The venue is pretty small at the front of the building, so we could see the bartender pouring drinks and doing shots with the... More

good comfort food and reasonably priced for the touristy Gastown area of Vancouver. Service was great.

We have been astonished at the prices for what I would consider fast food in Vancouver. This was a really nice restaurant with friendly staff. The food was good and a fair price as was the drinks. The fish was delicious with free Wifi worth a second visit.

Staying in Gastown

Neighbourhood Profile
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
