We were drawn by TripAdvisor's high rating (4th in Vancouver) but found a rather small restaurant, with a limited but interesting menu, and, for us, no umami. Under First Nations ownership, it offers meats (fish and flesh) that are wild caught and gamey; but for us the preparation was not special.

My husband, and my daughter and I went to Salmon n Bannock on a Friday night. We made reservations, which is recommended...there are very few tables. The interior is tastefully decorated with authentic aboriginal art, some for sale. While from the outside it looks like a hole in the wall, the inside is spotless and updated nicely. We split the... My friend and I had bison ribs, elk brisket and a cedar jelly that was amazing. Sweetgrass and berry soda with a hint of honey. I was a BBQ cook and very picky about ribs. These were the best ribs I ever tried. Very memorable meal and such kind and warm service.

We were so happy with our meal and experience! The owner was very knowledgeable about gluten free issues. The bison and salmon soups were piping hot and delicious. The gluten free bannock was a new treat and the gluten free bread pudding was outstanding.

Daily changing dishes. High quality, lokal and not to much salt. A must eat in Vancouver. Reservation recommended. German: Wirklich etwas sehr außergewöhnliches. Authentisches First Nation Food im modernen Ambiente. Auch für Vegetarier geeignet.

Tonight I experienced one of the two best meals I've ever had in Vancouver, and it has to be in my top-ten most memorable meals of the past decade. Facing a long redeye flight home after a 24-hour work trip to Vancouver I was looking for a way to treat myself, and relying on TripAdvisor reviews in this case definitely... More

Stopped by for lunch. This modern native restaurant is quite the hole in the wall, and I mean that in a good way. Food good, service adequate

Great service and the food was done just right. The chef came out to see if everything was okay and the serving staff anticipated our needs and were very friendly. It was my brothers birthday and they sang and brought a lit desert.

The cake with carmelized sweetgrass and ice cream healed the fact that I had no mother! The elk burger with boar bacon and mushrooms gave me a mouthgasm, and Chief Louie's had so many notes and flavors. The ambiance was amzating and the service was attentive. I'll be back!

We are Vancouver's only First Nations restaurant. We specialize in wild fish, free range game meat and of course bannock, freshly baked daily. We use traditional ingredients that we prepare and present in a modern way. In our small casual bistro everyone is welcome as they are. In the spirit of First Nations' traditions, our intention is to provide a gathering place where the focus is on the people and the food. Inez (Nuxalk Nation) and Remi Owners

Residential neighbourhood to the ultra-wealthy, the gorgeous manor houses centred around The Crescent area are a fabled sight to behold.
