Normally I avoid Irish Pubs like the plague as they usually consist of green decor in a dark room, serving Budweiser and Mexican nachos. A friend told me about Johnnie Fox's and so I gave it a try. It's the real deal - a real Irish bar with real Irish servers, Guinness, Smithwicks's and bangers. They've held true to tradition... More

Impossible to fault. Johnnie Fox's is a great place to meet great people. A true traditional Irish bar with no gimmicks, no green coloured glasses. The best Guinness and the best stew in Vancouver. The staff are engaging, efficient and extremely helpful. The barman Diarmud from Galway is a character and a true gent. If you are in Vancouver make sure... More

Really small and crowded space. Enjoyed the irish beers but bartender wasn't like very friendly and charged me for an extra drink by accident. Don't plan on returning.

Sat having a Magners, menu looks very traditional which we are going to try later but service is really good and a good atmosphere with free wifi.

First place I went when I turned 19. Food was great and the drinks were even greater. Friendly people and fast service.

We found this lovely pub after looking for places in Vancouver with a good roast dinner and Johnnie Fox's did not disappoint! I was pleased to see that it was a traditional Irish pub, with lots of Irish staff. The Kilkenny, Guiness and Gin and Tonics were great! Three of us had the roast beef dinner with mashed potatoes, gravy... More

As I walked down Granville, the heat gave me a craving for a pint. The door and entrance was appealing and the set up inside is pretty intriguing. The bartender was excellent! Great attitude and service! I had personal nachos and wings. Both were nice- and actually A LOT of food which I was warned about- but had to learn... More

Staying in Granville Street

Neighbourhood Profile
Granville Street
Granville Street spans many, multiple city blocks and has become so fastidiously known for its nightclubs and watering holes that it's fondly nicknamed the city's 'Entertainment District.' Friday and Saturday nights are the most popular and lively, with young revelers taking to the streets in droves and keeping the party going until late. Granville Street, being mostly open to pedestrian-only traffic, has a healthy social life along its main thoroughfares, even outside of its cafes and pubs, spilling onto the sidewalks. The locals are chatty, the shops at its expansive Pacific Centre Mall are trendy, and the whole area seems to be on a sugar rush: in a good way. Exuberance and camaraderie classify this neighbourhood.
