Nothing fancy about this place...it's not fine dining; however, authentic and tasty dim sum that we ordered from a menu. Prices are reasonable. Servers are somewhat attentive..it was slow when we went and there were only a few tables occupied. Definitely worth a repeat visit. :)

Been here for dim sum a couple times. If you are looking for a new place to try, it's a safe bet. Service is kind of disorganized but dim sum is more fun when you have time to chat. My main complaint was simply that both times I went the vegetables I ordered were lukewarm. All the other dishes were... More

My wife and I were here with another couple. We were coming from the Dr. Sun Yat Sen Garden, about 2-3 blocks away. Restaurant was recommended at the Garden. We have had (Cantonese) dimsum in China, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Toronto, Hong Kong, Chicago... and on this trip, Calgary. Unlike other places, except for Calgary, the dimsum carts... This typical dim sum restaurant is a short walk from Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden, something I highly recommend as a first stop in Chinatown. Our tour group tour significant Chinatown sites, including the Garden. Dim sum is Cantonese style cuisine prepared as bite-sized portions traditionally served in small steamer baskets or on small plates. Dim sum is also... More

This Chinatown was my favourite Chinatown on Canada 20yrs ago. My skin crawled and my stomach rolled at what this City had become. The restaurant however was a nice surprise. I was very hesitant to walk into ANY restaurant in Chinatown, but i was hungry. The food was good, portions were good (decent dim sum), the washroom was clean, service... More

It was our first time to Chinatown and this restaurant so we weren't sure what to order but our waitress was helpful and what we did order was good. Try it!

Prompt service and tasty food. What more do you want? Bbq pork bun was delicious. Great beef stir fry with noodles. Thai shrimp was terrific.

This is a great restaurant. Don't plan to hurry because I think everything is cooked to order. Soups and appetizers were good, as well as my duck dish.

We were recommended this, the menus are in Chinese and English. We were virtually the only non Chinese in the restaurant and we were practically ignored. The steamed dumplings were good, although no soya sauce or dip and no one came near enough the table for us to ask for some. The beef and noodles were also good. However the... More

The food was good, the service was okay, but when I went to the washroom and there was no soap, I just couldn't recommend it. I know that this likely occurs in many restaurants, but to have an long empty soap dispenser ( I could tell) just put me off.

Thank Carob4

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
With the recent exodus of massive new building projects hitting the neighbourhood, Chinatown; which has always been one of the city's most vibrant areas; is even more buzzing and buoyant than ever before. Playing host to some of the city's best pan-Asian cuisine, from fusion food to traditional home-cooking, Chinatown has remained faithful to its roots as a space which clambers with shop signs and welcomes diners to the table. More that that, it has a hip experimental vibe to it, with trendy pop-ups and catchall market shops. The biggest of Canada's Chinatowns, it is also home to an expansive Chinese garden whose manicured grounds inspire and delight, its ponds and pagodas drawing walkers in for an stroll. Take in the red streetlights, the playful awnings, and the upbeat air that suffuse this area.
