Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were staying at the Wickaninnish Inn and had breakfast at the café on all three days after a walk on the beach. Coffee good and a great view. Breakfast sandwiches were not available on the third day which was disappointing. There is a closet...to put wet clothes. Just make to sure it gets turned on if you come in drenched.More

Great view and baked good were excellent. Cute place to have a small lunch. Not sure I would go out of my way to eat there if you are not staying at the hotel but if a guest in the hotel, then a must visit....Kids loved the hot chocolate and service was great.More

For us, it was so easy to pop in the Driftwood for our breakfast, lunch and hot chocolates fixes. We would either sit at the cafe, very casual, or as takeaways. Great place to sit and relax, take in the view of Chesterman Beach. Perfect...spot to start the beachwalk as well. Well done to the team for managing a busy cafe!More

Staff were very friendly and helpful (were waiting to get into the Pointe restaurant), the hot chocolate was delicious and the view (sat outside) was stunning. What more can you ask.

Stay away from this property. It’s the snobbiest, rudest, most unwelcoming place we’ve been to. Rude staff at every corner, enquiring what your up to, ensuring your following all their ridiculous rules, only to overcharge you and mess up your meal order. Was a big...disappointment on every level.More

Great cafe in the Wickaninnish. The coffee is really good and the service is friendly and fast. Great views of the beach from the cafe itself too.

The location of the Driftwood Cafe is stunning with views of the beach and a lovely heavily west coast inspired interior and wood fireplace. However, the actual product is average at best. The service was subpar, I had to wait and in the end ask...for a refill of coffee not once, but twice and the servers were not busy. Now, I don’t know if I’m being harsh about this, but at a Relias & Châteaux I expect a higher quality of service. At one point there were dirty cups at table and yet the server was on his phone and wasn’t even trying to hide it! So, dirty dishes out and apathetic servers who’d rather be on Facebook than keep the cafe looking clean. Completely unacceptable and unprofessional. We were surprised with this level of behaviour at such an establishment.More

This is a bit of a waste of a restaurant. You must order and pay at the counter, and there are absolutely no substitutions. They don't have access to a kitchen, so everything is premade. You can add salmon to your salad for example, but...you will be told it will be an extra 15 minutes so they can get it from the real kitchen. Super busy with long waits in the morning for coffee-understaffed!More

My husband and I walked into the Wickaninnish yesterday. We are both in our 60s and not particularly threatening. We had been walking on the beach and we were not dressed as nicely as sometimes; however, not inappropriately. We had on jeans and a wind...suit. The staff at the desk made it clear to us that the restaurants are for guest only. A man then walked with us until it was clear we would be getting in our car to leave. We are both highly educated and successful in second fulfilling careers. We were treated very rudely.More
