Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great atmosphere and great service. I started with the salad which was missing that je ne sais quoi however my husband’s oysters were great. My main course of spiced chickpea fritters could potentially have been very bland but the sauce and accompaniments made it a...very tasty filling dish. My husband had the halibut which he said was cooked to perfection. We shared the chocolate brownie which was yummy. The wine was totally overpriced so had a local Tofino beer which was fine.More

Just do it- make the reservation and enjoy the wonderful food, wine, ambience. We had small plates- seaweed salad, scallops gratin, oysters and halibut main dish. It was amazing!!

This place was recommended to us by several people, and we're glad we listened... it did not disappoint. We went there, to the upper level, with another couple and had a really enjoyable evening, with great, friendly, helpful service and delicious food. The ambiance is...awesome. If you plan to go there, be sure to make a reservation a day or two ahead, as it's quite a popular place. We loved it and we definitely recommend it!!More

Delicious dinner on our trip to Tofino. Loved the hipster-like wooden restaurant with staff in lumberjack shirts! Enjoyed a delicious halibut fish cake and one of the kids had the ‘best burger ever’! It’s got a buzzy atmosphere and so you will need to book....Used local produce and inventive combos. Enjoy!More

New menu …not good. Oily octopus, soggy fries, condescending waiter..way over priced! $27 for an 8 ounce Pinot. Skip this place and go to The Shed across the road..better friendly service, better food and way less expensive.

Maybe we shouldn't have gone here after going to the restaurant down the road, as we kept comparing. Atmosphere and decor is lovely but the service we experienced on the night wasn't good at all (sorry I am a little late writing my reviews) Food...was pretty average and for us not worth the $375 dollar bill.More

While the whole meal was top notch, I have NEVER tasted chicken this good. It was a small plate item but the dish was heavenly. An excellent wine list also.

To me 5 stars means perfection which is nearly impossible but was truly the case here. 1 caveat ... we only ordered small plates. That said every dish was a flavor bomb. We tried all the seafood centric small plates and each was unique and...at the same time incredible. The décor fit Tofino perfectly and service was great. If you like oysters you will die for the potato crusted oysters. Even the non oyster fan at our table loved it.More

We sat up the bar checking out the whiskies. We ordered the special - fried rock fish. An event in itself. Not cheap but the best dining experience in Tofino.

This has been one of our favourite restaurants in Tofino. We had another very good dinner, with good service. A nice evening. But it seemed like it wasn’t quite the pinnacle of creative dining it had been previously. It was a bit more of a...pub atmosphere this time, which was still OK but something intangible and special was missing from the experience.More

We reserved a table, because this looked like the best place in town. Our first impression was formed by the waitress telling us that they had a $55 corkage fee, because “Canada has some really weird liquor laws”. I Googled this later and found it...to be untrue. The rest of our experience was downhill from there. “Pretentious “ is the word that my wife and I kept saying. Pretentious staff, pretentious menu, pretentious food, all at a preposterously out-of-market price. Do not eat here- go to Hotel Zed for a great and entertaining experience instead.More

Overpriced. Was not given a wine list and ordered a 8 ounce glass of merlot and was shocked to get the bill and it was $ 32.00. Food was mediocre. They charge you a $10.00 deposit to confirm your reservation which I thought would come...off our bill after dinner but waitress told us they return it in 1-3 business days! Unbelievable!More

My wife and I had a gorgeous meal at Wolf in the Fog. We shared two starters and two mains and it was a lot of food; the starters in particular were very big. We could have probably had one starter and two mains and...it would have been plenty. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the restaurant was very understanding given that we had to keep shifting our reservation given trouble reaching Tofino with work on highway 4. The restaurant is very cool with lots of interesting artwork.More

I’m not from Tofino but I would make them on a Friday night. It’s a popular place in Tofino. If you get a reservation then you can sit upstairs which is nicer.

it is not suitable for children. There's a flight of stairs up to the dining room. Tables are fairly close together and it's extremely noisy which can be distracting
