Such a neat little restaurant in the heart of Salt Spring Island. Delicious comfort food and awesome atmosphere as they have added on to the original tiny restaurant and built around a huge tree. I think it was rated #1 for Salt Spring for restaurants, but don't quote me.

Had dinner here.....only do dinner on Fr/Sa nights in winter. Cafe is built around a tree...in winter has 8 tables only.....small and intimate....in summer, much more seating. It is small and popular so dont be surprised to find its full. In late Dec by 1830 it was a bit cool in cafe...they do however have a large supply of blankets.... More

Stumbled across this absolute gem of a restaurant. Such a great, healthy but really tasty menu. Had 2 different Mexican breakfasts, the home made black beans are a definite winner, as was the matcha latte. Plenty of blankets and little heaters to help you warm up even if it looks a little chilly (I was sceptical!) and the staff are... More

We have been before and were not disappointed this time. Eggs, bacon and beans are the best. Door stop sized bread slices. Service is friendly. It was pouring with rain but the place is cozy - and can be made cozier by blankets if you need them

This is a charming spot for lunch. Food quality is good and servings are generous. Service is a bit slow but think island time and you will enjoy.

Based on the reviews I read ,I expected good service and food. Both were extremely disappointing. The service, if we can call it that , was close to being non-existent. First , we waited 20 minutes to get a table, which we were understanding about because it was busy. we thought it would be worth the wait. We then waited... More

A funkly little restaurant in the middle of Ganges. We had lunch there on a day of pouring rain. There were a couple of leaks in the roof but staff and customers alike dealt with them in good spirits. The salad was excellent and the staff very friendly

Small family reunion in Ganges, and we all headed to the Treehouse. Warm and cozy inside - kind of like a real treehouse. Service was attentive, but not fast, but seeing the magic they manage in the tiny kitchen, you have to expect that. We had varied dishes, from the lamb burger, to chicken burrito, to quesadillas, to breakfast choices... More

True to its name, the tree lives in, and out, and over the café. Hard to find such a delicately flavoured taco elsewhere. With the damp island weather and the open-sky dining, opt for the soup and a rich (vegan) latte.
