No trip to Dawson is complete without a cheechako sandwich. I have the roast turkey (yes, real roast turkey) and cranberry. I have never had a bad meal. Delicious
This friendly spot had been recommended, and was crowded at lunch time. Few tables, but fun to sit on chairs provided, outside, on the boardwalk. Made to order chicken on a croissant was delicious. (Cheechakos were just-arrived prospectors in 1898)
On the recommendation of a local I went for one of their turkey club sandwiches made with real roasted turkey. A great little place, the bread looks wonderful and judging by the steady stream of customers it probably is that good. Turkey sandwich was great!
Surprise find, very good bread, and lots of muffins, cinnamon buns and other goodies. Saw that they made sad wicks too. They serve breakfast as well, but We only bought bread and goodies. Don't miss this one.
We stopped in to look at the baking and decided to have lunch here because of the sandwiches. The sandwich combinations made up our minds to give them and try and we were not disappointed in the sandwich or the price.
Great hot roast pork loin sandwich, tasty and filling. Good hot coffee and delicious pastries. Especially good strudel with plenty of real fruit, and scones. Cheechakos also sells freshly baked bread they close as soon as they sell out during the day.
Open early, great muffins and breakfast sandwich. Very friendly service too. Thanks for a great visit to Dawson City!
