The smell of freshly cooked cinnamon buns met us as we opened the door. We found an excellent selection of savoury and sweet breakfast treats along with coffee and tea selections. What a perfect place to start the day.

I always love the soup options at the Penny! Fresh, healthy, hearty, delicious! It's a busy place at lunch time, but take away is also awesome!!!!

The place is packed, the reviews here are great, so what went wrong? Just about everything: - The cashier was so bored and distracted that she made me feel uncomfortable. - They had nothing but stale bread so I ordered a wrap. Big mistake. Bile-bitter falafel, limp tomato, gluey tasteless hummus, and worst of all sprouts next to the hot... More

Delicious grilled cheeee. Real Cheese, mushrooms, bacon and schiracha. Yummy!! Best pasta salad I've ever had. Coffee is strong and hardy!! French pressed. A quaint little spot. Not upscale but down to earth, good food. Fresh and friendly staff.

We stopped in here on our first visit to Lethbridge. The line was long, but moved quickly. Service was great! It was a great find.

I always look for local "Ma and Pop" type shops and stay away from anything that is a big name chain. If you're like me, this place is for you. Breakfasts, soup, sandwiches, home-made pastries and goodies, coffee - The Penny is awesome! Not a huge dining area, but the staff is really friendly. It's the perfect, cozy, little atmosphere.... Whenever I want to have a quick but nutritious lunch with a friend, 'The Penny' always comes to mind! They have a great variety of homemade soups and sandwiches made with homemade bread of different varieties. Very filling, but sometimes I can't resist having a cup of their coffee and a homemade muffin or a piece of delicious pie (... More

The Penny is a gem in the downtown! Perfect for coffee and a light snack, or for a unique tasting lunch. The servers treat you like they really appreciate you and wait time is excellent. The food is so good, highly recommend the turkey bacon sandwich!

Great atmosphere at this coffee house. Great selection of hot and cold drinks (even milkshakes). There are many delicious options of sandwiches, soups and baked goods - it is hard to decide. We ordered the ratatouille soup with Parmesan and the smoked salmon sandwich on fresh multigrain bread as well as an apple tart. We also ordered a medium roast... More
