Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Homey restaurant located inside the hostel. Came here for a quick brunch prior to heading to Lake Louise on a weekday and there was no wait. Service was friendly. Free parking available. I had a bowl of chili which came with bread and my friend...had a cheeseburger. The food was hearty and there was a good variety in the menu. Credit cards accepted. Restrooms located on the bottom level, down the stairs. Free WiFi is available.More

Fantastic staff. Delicious food. We came back for another dinner and will return before we leave. The chicken burger is amazing - make it angry!! The staff is so lovely and the local soda pop and beer were wonderful. Great food in an unexpected setting.

This was our best-value meal in Lake Louise. The best poutine I had in Canada. Fast friendly service. Reasonable prices. It will be a regular stop for us if/when we return. Highly recommend. PS. There’s not much signage out front so it’s a bit hard...to find. Don’t be fooled by the “Hostel Parking Only” sign in the parking lot. The cafe is part of the hostel.More

Unfortunately, there are not many restaurant options in the Lake Louise area. Our experience is that most menus are similar and the quality is all equally poor. I made the mistake of ordering a hamburger, at the waitress's recommendation. The meat was dry, the bun...was stale and the condiments were non existent. The only redeeming element was the side of poutine which was a very small side of poutine.More

We were working on a project next door and we were looking for a place to eat where we would not leave our wallets behind. Bill Peyto's Cafe came highly recommend. We ordered the fish and chips and the homemade chili. Both delicious! The check...with drinks was around $60. In comparison, my co-worker had gone out for lunch and he has paid $60 alone for Chicken wings, a salad and a drink. He felt totally ripped off! Lake Louise is expensive... Come to Bill Peyto's and you will leave happy every time! Food and service were amazing!More

Very casual, with a homey satisfying menu. food was very tasty, generous portions. No reservations. Small (50-60) place, so be willing to wait or plan you meal early or late. Worth it in either case. Somewhat hard to find in the hostel, with no sign...on the road or side of the building.More

We arrived late in Lake Louise and the hotel recommended Bill Peyto’s. Having visited the lake of the same name earlier we thought why not. Friendly service with a helpful team - pity they had run out of the Elk burger. Great value with a...good choice of options. Worth a visit if you are staying in the area.More

We stopped at Bill Peyto's for an early dinner. When the dinner menu didn't start until 4pm, we decided we were tired of burgers and ordered beer and fries and lounged for 45 minutes so we could order dinner. Hubby's chicken Alfredo was the best...he ever had. My mac and cheese was baked in its own casserile dish with a delicious crust on top. And our "appetizer" fries, were fresh cut and delicous with our beers. Our server was busy with the whole room but was very attentive and personable. The registrar at our hotel recommended this place for good food where the locals go and he didn't steer us wrong.More

This is one of those places where the waitstaff is more interested in hanging out together back near the kitchen, and is only waiting on you because that’s what they have to do. The hamburger, on a typical cheap white bun, is cooked to death....The sauce is mostly tasteless. The salad is basic and the dressing unremarkable. What a disappointing place.More

Maybe breakfast is better, but lunch was not good. The elk burger I asked to be rare, was hard, dry and grainy. The felafel was flavorless and dry and had wilted and black lettuce. Basically low-grade cafeteria food. Oh, and they don’t do unsweetened ice...tea. What they call iced tea was more like syrup.More

It’s a simple café in the heart of Lake Louise. The food and customer service were both good. Nothing special, but ok if you want to stop for a quick bite.

We're so glad we stepped out from Chateau Lake Louise to try the food. It's easy to get to from the hotel. Simply walk over to the public parking lot and catch the Rte 11 public transportation bus. There's a stop just in front of...the restaurant. Very casual, relaxed atmosphere. We had breakfast. They served generous portions at bargain prices for the area. Highly recommend!More

We tried to book a table but they do not take reservations. You would have to get there as soon as they open and even then you may not all get in. At least you would be able to eat at the Lake Louise Inn if you don't get in... More
