We stayed at the hostel so ate here for breakfast as it was convenient. Being midweek on a winter's day the cook was the only staff but not too many people around either. The coffee was self serve and dark like we like it. Had the breakfast wrap which was a good portion. The plate came with lots of hashbrowns.

We were staying at the rv park but we went to Cougar Pete's for a coffee. Very rustic and cosy. Warm welcome, friendly helpful staff and a good cup of coffee - also free wifi yey!

Sadly I injured myself on the second run down and spent a few hours in the Lookout Bar. Views were amazing. Food was good and plentiful but the outstanding feature was the service. I was in some pain and staff assisted by calling the medics from the infirmary and even offered to help me down the stairs.

If you are okay with sandwiches and deep fried foods, Cougar Pete's is right for you. Unfortunately, when we arrived we were told that the Shepard's Pie was not available. This was the exact menu item that my husband and I wanted.

Good place for teens and young adults who are hosteling but not much for other adults. Beer only and menu even more limited. Young hosteling is who it is intended for.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Food was hearty - cheap for Banff. Ordered the Fries with cheese curds and gravy - tasty. Chicken strips and salad.

Unlike most canadians we met on our trip, the staff of this restaurant was quite unfriendly. They harshly told us that they were sold out of most items on the menu. In the end, we ordered wraps with fries, which were not very tasty.

We were staying at the hostel and made a point to show up right for dinner for their wrap, which sounded delicious, but as soon as we walked in we were informed that they were out of lettuce, tomatoe, and guacamole, which made up over half the ingredients we were looking forward to. We skipped out and went to St.... More

Not good, didn't even get to eat. Had to give the order to the cook, no server. Tried to,order gluten free burger, had GF buns on the menu, was told that the burgers have bread crumbs as a filler. The cook told me there was nothing gluten free on their menu except the bun... Very rude and didn't care a... More

Went here for breakfast based on other reviews but we weren't impressed. It is very small, really has no views, and terribly understaffed. The cook/waiter was the only person working which made it very slow. You get your own drinks (soda, coffee, etc) and order from a very limited menu. The food is plentiful and reasonably priced but not particularly... More
