Lots and lots of noodle choices! It was hard to pick. However we picked a rice noodle dish and an udon bowl as well. Nice to take the chill off!

Love going to this place, great food. They can add more meat to their ramens tho as you barely get some. Its a very small japanese restaurant so they dont have that many tables. Summer time gets pretty crazy busy. I dont think they make reservations.

First time today and it is small, packed, simple and absolutely wonderful. Great authentic Japanese food with lots of variety. For a quick hot lunch or take out give this little hole in the wall a try

Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall… when in Banff, you have to visit this place. Our family loves this tiny place. After a hike, after skiing or even visiting Banff, this will be our first choice to go to. Hot and fresh! It's just so good! Hoping one day they will expand the place but that's the fun of going here... More

Stopped in after a hike in Johnson Canyon, wanted something to warm our souls. It's a small place & packed. The ladies were so nice to give us a ticket to come back in half hour. They had a table reserved for us. We had the best ramen & soba noodles, and the broth was delicious.

Got a late start out from Calgary (noon) and wanted to get something quick to eat on arriving in Banff. Knew the situation re seating and what to expect and just as other reviewers had said, a server explained there would be a 15 min wait, gave us a slip of paper with our "reservation" time on it and we... We usually go skiing once a year to Banff and Chaya is one of the restaurants that we always try to go. Decent, tasty authentic Japanese food. Good value for money considering that it is Banff. Small seating area, but if it is busy, the server will give you a paper slip to come back a certain time and they... More

The food is delicious and good value for money. Seating is quite limited and they do not take reservations via phone. Be prepared to wait for seating, otherwise you're better off getting takeaway. The staff are very friendly and food is served relatively quickly.

Three out of four times I go to Chaya there isn't any space for me to sit, sometimes I'll get takeout, but the space is so tiny you don't want to wait there. That said, the noodles are great and I go back as much as I can. The Tan Tan Noodles are a spicy favourite, and the kakiage udon... More
