I must share my disappointment I rang this afternoon to book a table for my birthday with family and friends on Saturday 2nd April 2022 The lovely lady said I can’t book as the fiddler is only accepting 20.% occupancy BUT I can walk over...from our motel … ie staying on site to SQUAT on a table to accommodate our 16 guests I’ve been going to the fiddler for over 30 years and I’ve NEVER not been able to book a table … we’ve had Wakes … birthdays …. Weddings and more occasions as this venue and have NEVER known this lack of service … U don’t squat to get a table It’s just not done 😌 Carol kendall-richardson Marriage celebrantMore

Came here for a nice lunch with friends, we had The Fiddler Plate to share which has a little bit of everything, the arancini and salt & pepper squid were our favourites. Would recommend the 1826 cocktail and I Lycke You cocktail if you like...sweeter drinks. Overall, lovely atmosphere, great cocktails and amazing food. A great place to have a leisurely weekend lunch with friends.More

Great service and food! My daughter and I dined here due to proximity of the Mercure Hotel next door where we were staying.  Wow, what a beautiful venue, full of friendly staff, at table ordering (that works), reasonable prices, yummy food and service with a...smile! The venue itself is filled with old world charm with a variety of places to enjoy your food - be it indoors or outdoors We enjoyed dinner (burger and mocktails), dessert (Nutella Pizza) and breakfast (the works and pancakes). All of the food was cooked and presented to perfection. What impressed me most was the amount of friendly staff, who appeared genuinely interested that everything was to your satisfaction. Highly recommended!!More

Lovely atmosphere, excellent food, great ambience. Only downside is the front staff felt untrained. One server came and sent the food to our table without saying anything and just left…after he knocked a chair on our table. Not sure why he did that. We even...came before the rush so there’s no reason to rush your movement and knocked everything off. But do visit this place. Staffing is hard at the moment so everything is understandable. Keep up the good work!More

We have a table booked every Friday night for the year. Haven’t been for 4 of the 10 months due to lockdown. The menu has been simplified lately and they have taken away the veal schnitzel. On three separate occasions now one of our meals...has not arrived (usually mine!) and I have had to go to the kitchen area myself to sort it out. Last night only three of the six meals arrived. It took over an hour to get the meals even with the staff being told several times during that time. They blamed a malfunction in the computer and yet when asked, we could see all six meals plainly on the screen. We did get a refund for the three meals but it wasn’t great that three of us had already finished our meals and had to watch them eat. One person wasn’t able to get to a meeting. They have also stopped serving schooners in the Irish bar so we have to walk all the way to the sports bar to get these and my member discount. (Along way to balance drinks) The entrance to The Fiddler is also shared with KFC. It is often confusing as to which cars in the cue of traffic are going to which venue. This leads to people cutting across from the outside to go into The Fiddler car park. There is going to be an accident there one day.More

Yeah, out of lockdown and eating out, though wish this was a good review, we stopped in to The Fiddler for lunch as easy parking, we found a table and perused the menue, my husband had the Fish and Chips and I ordered a Pumpkin...Salad, I went to get a drink and I asked if they had a Pinot Grigio, was told yes, I asked if it was nice and she said yes, I decided to take a chance, first mistake it was so bad I drank some and left most of it. I asked what my husband thought of the Fish and Chips, he said he had better but was fine. My huge bowl with masses of green, way too much, they were generous with not only the greenery but the Fetta Cheese, the only things they were generous with. However the salad dressing was almost non existent, the pieces of pumpkin were minimal, most were on the hard side and a few were cooked properly, however most NICE pumpkin salads are roasted, the red onion, which I really like I had to try and find, I can’t remember anything else included, O yes I can I it was beetroot, they were tiny little cubes of beetroot and yes may be there were 8 or 10 pieces, these little cubes would each have been smaller than a $2 Australian coin. Possibly I have missed something, I am 70 so that is a possibility. When I finished scavenging for something that was not green I still had a huge bowl of mixed lettuce, I would have eaten about a cup and a half of the greenery and still seemed to have a full bowl. Now I do like lettuce and it is extremely good for you, if there had been salad dressing that I could taste I most probably have eaten more of the greenery. With such an uninteresting salad surely they must know a good salad dressing goes a long way to make the salad a whole lot better, I thing who ever designed this salad needs to go back to Food School.More

Security aggression , inappropriate toward us. Totally uncalled for, they just had no people skills. Arrogant pigs.

Good service and friendly. Food is overall good but Eye fillet was burned and over cooked although asked to cook medium. Lamp cutlets were also burned and overcooked.

Over an hour for a pizza. The chips never came. A 10 minute wait at the bar to order drinks. No table service to clean the table afterwards. If you’re looking diabolical service in the Hills District, then look no further than The Fiddler. The...pizza when it eventually came, was okay. When we spoke to the staff, they said they were really busy <roll eyes>. Go elsewhere. Not worth itMore

Security at the front door were lovely Bar tenders and staff were awesome Made every drink right in front of me as I asked The security inside on the other were disgusting..my friend had 2 drinks and cut him off all because we were dancing...and trying to enjoy our night as it was my girls 19th The security in the pokie room on Saturday night..was a bigger build with glasses...was rude...I was appalled by his attitude and the way he spoke to everyone in there Would not recommend fiddler simply because of the guards..you can’t even dance and enjoy your time without them either cutting you off or kicking you out Quite disappointed..please have a big word to your security as they are super rude and turned us all off from this place.. And please open up a space for smokers where we can take our drinks with us as it’s not safe these days to leave your drink anywhere or unattended..More
