Yeah, out of lockdown and eating out, though wish this was a good review, we stopped in to The Fiddler for lunch as easy parking, we found a table and perused the menue, my husband had the Fish and Chips and I ordered a Pumpkin...Salad, I went to get a drink and I asked if they had a Pinot Grigio, was told yes, I asked if it was nice and she said yes, I decided to take a chance, first mistake it was so bad I drank some and left most of it.
I asked what my husband thought of the Fish and Chips, he said he had better but was fine.
My huge bowl with masses of green, way too much, they were generous with not only the greenery but the Fetta Cheese, the only things they were generous with. However the salad dressing was almost non existent, the pieces of pumpkin were minimal, most were on the hard side and a few were cooked properly, however most NICE pumpkin salads are roasted, the red onion, which I really like I had to try and find, I can’t remember anything else included, O yes I can I it was beetroot, they were tiny little cubes of beetroot and yes may be there were 8 or 10 pieces, these little cubes would each have been smaller than a $2 Australian coin. Possibly I have missed something, I am 70 so that is a possibility. When I finished scavenging for something that was not green I still had a huge bowl of mixed lettuce, I would have eaten about a cup and a half of the greenery and still seemed to have a full bowl. Now I do like lettuce and it is extremely good for you, if there had been salad dressing that I could taste I most probably have eaten more of the greenery.
With such an uninteresting salad surely they must know a good salad dressing goes a long way to make the salad a whole lot better, I thing who ever designed this salad needs to go back to Food School.More
