This is the best restaurant we enjoyed in Los Barriles. The ambience is lovely and the food is amazing. Herman is delightful and takes great pride in his restaurant and town.

Food, drinks and food - es el mejor. You’re missing out if you don’t dine here. We absolutely love it!!! We all had fish this visit. And the flan is delicious ♥️
This is my favorite restaurant in Ali’s Barrilles. Great decor, lighting, food , desert and Herman is a great chef, and host: reminding of those days hone by with humility and hospitality from the heart. His appetizers are great and our fish with three sauces...was a ten! But don’t miss the FROZEN FLAN for desert. I drive up from Cabo just for that!More
Look, the other two top restaurants are good but have been pretty much americanized (canadianized?) with hardly any Mexican cuisine and northern prices. Go here if you want a good dining experience. Herman is there just about every night and goes out of his way...to help you with your Spanish without being patronizing. Start out with a mexican cerveza and the Chilibobos, a large 1/2 jalepeno with crusted cheese. It's not spicy at all for some reason. Their chili relleno with shrimp is perfect probably one of the best in town. I had the Mar y Tierra Fajitas this time and they were served hot with a very nice presentation. And enough that I couldn't finish it. This is my new favorite restaurant in town and I live here.More
The food was excellent and the service was great. We will be back. Wonderful grilled fish and shrimp. Also enjoyed the chips and salsa.
I had a very enjoyable experience at this neighborhood bar and restaurant. I started off with a tasty but strong margarita that came with complimentary chips and salsa. The host/ waiter/bar tender was Herman who also happens to be the owner. He is a very...friendly soul who takes extra that your experience at his establishment is a positive one. Herman speaks very good English and does an excellent job of explaining the dishes. I had the steak and enchiladas which comes with a six ounce steak (make sure you tell them how well you want it cooked) two chicken enchiladas, a green salad, a stuffed California chili, and rice and beans. The flavor of the steak was delicious and the enchiladas were yummy. I was definitely full after this meal. Total cost for the dinner, 2 margaritas, and tip was $32. I thought it was a fair price for the meal.More
If you catch it German will cook it. NO ONE can do it as well as him. Get a Chili-bobo while you wait. Always on our list of places to eat when staying in Las Barriles. Never disappoints. German (Herman) is a riot.
Wow! It’s hard to put into words how amazing this dinner was. All 4 of us agreed that it was our best meal in Los Barriles during our week long stay. German (Herman) was awesome too. Service was great and German will help you with...Spanish or all English too. He has a great sense of humor and was genuinely kind. But the food- La Bamba - steak, tuna, and shrimp with a fresh salad and mashed potatoes- 3 of our group has this and raved. I had the garlic shrimp- so good! Beer and margaritas are available too. To finish the experience we had two flans to share - one vanilla and one peanut butter. It was a perfect ending to our week in Los Barriles. Don’t miss this hidden gem. It’s across the street from Chapito’s (grocery) and Caldwell Banker real estate. Look upstairs - the smells of the food cooking, the music and the atmosphere was great! Friend in our group said the bathroom was clean and beautiful too. We’ll definitely return to visit German and this tesoro (treasure) of Los Barriles. Buen Provecho!More
La Terraza is a little hidden, on the second story of a building. What it may lack in size it makes up with excellent service and delicious food. German was always so welcoming, helpful, funny, and even helps you with your Spanish! Coconut Shrimp and...all the fish dishes are a must have, as long as you leave room for the flan!More
Food is wonderful... the best meal we had in a week-long trip. Herman is a great host and bent over backwards to accommodate our every need. Can't say enough good things about this place.
Best meal so far! We have been trying all of the restaurants in town based on reviews, having been disappointed for the last 5 weeks until NOW. Finally the best and we will be back. I haven't had a shrimp cocktail this good in years....Cold, perfectly cooked shrimp, tiny diced onion, cucumber, in a zesty worderful liquid. Shrimp limdo in a chipolte sauce was amazing and the trio (labamba) that my husband had was cooked to perfection. I am not a huge peanut butter lover, however the peanut butter flan was the amazing. Service was good and provided by Herman. Forget the other falsely "highly rated" restaurants that really don't deliver.. Best fresh, honest food in town. (only one we WILL be back to )More
We went there for a June birthday party. Excellent service. The owner is a great guy and really funny. The food was perfect. We all ordered different menu items. No complaints from anyone. 5 star dinner for a great price.
excellent as always. Just like eating with family but without cooking and cleaning up the mess. Highly recommend.
From the street you wouldn’t know this was here. The restaurant is quite pretty with a nice view of the tree tops and water in the distance. Food and drinks are served with a smile. The flan is the real star here, just delicious!
After three years here we kept meaning to eat at this restaurant but never did until last week. We were not disappointed and will definitely be coming back. Herman, the host was so personable and quite funny that we felt at home right away. We...were a party of 4 and all of us enjoyed our meals. I had the La Bomba, a combination of steak, fish and shrimp. The steak was seasoned and cooked just right, the fish was delicious and there was a skewer of five perfect shrimp. Everyone else enjoyed their meal and the atmosphere was really nice. I would highly recommend the flan. It was like no other I have had in Los Barilles and I have been dreaming about it ever since. It is one of the more higher end restaurants in town for prices but well worth it for a nice night out.More
