Atmospheric location in Zennor with a warm and welcoming interior and friendly staff. Food was relatively simple but very high quality and nicely prepared. Had the fried whitebait and the mackerel pate, both of which were excellent. Also would recommend the Chilli. Good range of drinks available as well.

We went on the costal walk which stars at the pub car park after two hours we returned to the pub soaked, the bar had a roaring log fire and was so inviting, the staff were lovely, chatty and welcoming. We had a snack for lunch which was good value and delicious. The Evening menu looked good. We would have... More

We are very regular visitors to the area but hadn't eaten at the Tinners for a while. We had lunch here after a long walk. Traditional pub food but really excellent. Bar staff were very helpful in their advice about two of needing to eat nut free and gluten free dishes. My grown up children both agreed it was the... More

We had intended to eat here but it was too cold to eat outside and the one "table" left of what must only be five or six was a barrel with a bench seat looking down the room. The menu only had six mains and apart from the steak nothing grabbed me and Jane was considering he kids menu. So... More

ColinandJane, I'm sorry that you didn't enjoy your recent visit to The Tinners. You are right that it is a small pub - but they didn't build enormous pubs like Wetherspoons back in 1271 when it was originally founded and most people like the cosy atmosphere! Our food is all cooked from scratch with local ingredients, and so we keep... More

Lovely dog friendly pub with stunning views. Food came quickly after ordering, but portion sizes are small for the price. Beer battered fish was tasteless and served with a tiny portion of chips. We would go back, but try the sandwiches instead as they looked good.

This is a wonderful, old style pub with loads of atmosphere as well as very friendly staff. We took in our two (giant) dogs - a wolfhound and a deerhound - and were greeted by all the staff, including the chef, who came out to see the hounds. They were very happy for us to occupy a fairly largish floor... More

15 minutes scenic drive from St Ives and you will arrive at Zennor: a beautiful (very) old pub; narrow, cosy, roaring walk-in fire place and 4 real ales; I chose the dark malty ale ( Skinners I think); very good. Legs toasty now.

Nice cosy bar area. Cold unwelcome restaurant area. Food was dismal. Gents loo was a outside shed. The village location does not deserve such a poor offering as this.

Brian, I'm really sorry to hear that your recent visit to our wonderful, historic pub was disappointing. In general our guests seem to love the pub and the food we provide - but it was obviously not up to the standards we expect or you deserve. I can only apologise that it didn't live up to the promise of good... More

Built in 1271, The Tinners Arms has been at the heart of village life in Zennor for over 700 years. Originally built to accommodate the masons who constructed St Senara’s Church, famous for its mermaid, you’ll find little has changed over the years.

Modern life slips away as you step inside.

Join a friendly mix of regulars, visitors, families and walkers (often with a well-natured dog or two in tow) in the cosy bar or the light and airy dining room. Or spill out into the sunny garden with views to the rugged Atlantic coastline. Stay on and settle in by the roaring fire for a legendary Tinners Thursday Folk Night session.

“At Zennor one sees infinite Atlantic, all peacock-mingled colours, and the gorse is sunshine itself. Zennor is a most beautiful place: a tiny granite village nestling under high shaggy moor-hills and a big sweep of lovely sea beyond, such a lovely sea, lovelier even than the Mediterranean… It is the best place I have been in, I think” – D. H. Lawrence, 1916.
