We had lunch here both days while visiting Puebla. The restaurant is only a half block from the main square and most seating is on the 2nd floor which has some views over to the cathedral. On our first visit, we both wanted to try the Arabe (thin sliced marinated pork cooked on a spit) so my wife ordered a taco and I had a cemita (similar to a torta) which we both liked. Both had a generous serving of the shaved meat and were served with a side of spicy chipotle sauce. I would have liked more toppings on my sandwich but it wasn’t clear to me what was included when reading the Spanish menu. The second time that we dined, the waiter brought us a QR code that let us a view an English menu on our phones. The English menu was much more specific about what was served with each of the meals. This second time I had the poblano soup which was quite good and my wife again had the taco arabe that’s she liked so much the previous day.

Comal is located on Puebla’s main square. It looks very unassuming from street level, but go inside and up the stone steps for lovely seating upstairs. There are a few tables on the balcony - which seat two only. If you just want a snack, try the Semita (sandwich). There are several kinds on the menu. If you don’t like spicy or chili, let the waiter know and the kitchen will adapt the sandwich for you. Service was excellent.
You won’t go wrong here.

This place was spectacular, the food really everything we ordered was delicious, good portion size.
Cemita entrees of different flavors and chalupitas were an excellent choice to start with.
The service was ideal from start to finish, very attentive at all times.
The menu brings a very wide variety of Mexican food, with an authentic seasoning.
I highly recommend, besides that the view is very nice towards the cathedral. The space is spacious and very well lit.

Excellent food, good diversity and fair price.
The food is well prepared and the service is very good. It is a nice place and perfectly located, opposite Cathedral. Super good chiles in nogada. The enchiladas at three moles are very rich. Tasty food and a great view of the cathedral! The cemita sampler was great though I’d recommend just getting the classic Milanesa cemita with fresh herbs. The passion fruit margarita was also great.

Went for breakfast. Food quality / tastiness was under average. Property is spacious and looks well maintained. Service was corteous.
In Mexico there are two ‘schools’ of how to prepare chilaquiles: soft or crunchy. Stiff does not belong to any of these categories and only reflects poor cooking or frozen food. We ordered two plates of chilaquiles which were plain stiff. Mine had chicken but probably not more than 3.5 oz which was disappointing.
Based on the experience we probably won't return. There are many other places with better food. Hopefully feedback will make them improve.

We were walking around on our first day in Puebla and wanted to find a place with a view of the cathedral. We walked by Comal and noticed they had seating overlooking the cathedral, so we went in.
We ordered some snacky food and some drinks and ended up having a very enjoyable hour or so. Since we liked the place we had breakfast there one morning and ended up visiting again one afternoon for a light meal.
We liked everything we ate at Comal, the service was excellent and we always enjoyed the nice view. The best thing I ate there was a arabe taco, my wife loved the mini-cemitas with mole.
Overall, Comal is a very nice restaurant serving local food where you can sit back and enjoy the view.

I went to Comal with my husband on our first night in Puebla, eager to have my first taste of mole poblano. The restaurant was clean and cute. But, I was very disappointed in my meal. I ordered some variation on enchiladas with cheese and mole poblano. When it arrived, I was unpleasantly surprised to find it was served cold, including the cheese inside the tortilla. Maybe I should have asked the waiter if this was the way it was supposed to be served, but I did not. My husband liked his meal, although I don’t recall what it was. Needless to say, I would not recommend this restaurant.

This is my favorite restaurant for dinner in Puebla. The extensive menu allows one to enjoy numerous authentic poblano dishes; all are well prepared and presented. Try to get a window seat, if possible, as the view of the cathedral is excellent. Recommended.

I’d like the manager / owner of this place answering a simple question:
How come you can’t divide a bill among people and you “have to” send me one bill ? Is it because there are lazy people working or is it actually because YOU have a policy? And if you do, can I ask you, what’s the reason for this? Absurd , can’t you just be more flexible? I’m sure I’m not the only one ever asking for this ?
Food is average (not worth the hype). Some people ordered soups and we had to send them back because they were cold.
Unfortunately this was our last day in the city. There are better spots around.

Excellent food (try the cemitas!) and a wonderful view of the Puebla Cathedral from upstairs. Ask for a balcony table (for two only).
The fideo seco is also really delicious and definitely try a mango margarita w/ mezcal instead of tequila!

The cemitas are delicious! We tried the adobada and árabe. Adobada was so perfect not too spicy. The árabe sauce they give it on the side, it’s spicy. But delicious. The service is great. We ate at the top, right across from the cathedral. Such a beautiful view. We definitely would come back.
