Stan’s is a great location to kick back with a bucket of Corona, some favourite people and tasty food as the sunlight fades. The spicy wings are great. Chips excellent and the beer cold. No other promises are made. It’s beer. It’s chicken. All venues...on Straddie have been impacted by staffing shortages in recent years. We visit Stan’s regularly when on Straddie. If you expect fine dining on a beach holiday, then Noosa might be a better option.More
Firstly the name is a bit silly, like a restaurant in a cartoon, not a real place. But it is real, I’ve been there. It wasn’t the best managed restaurant I’ve been to. The staff weren’t exactly a ball of sunshine. They lost our booking...and gave us pamphlets to fill out to order. Little did we know you didn’t even have to fill them out, we took them to the front desk and they didn’t want them. All we can say is sorry to the trees that died for that paper. We had a table at the back, we found a dartboard in a room and played it for most of the time. Daddy said I have hidden talents, but I didn’t hit a bullseye. I had the chicken burger, there were some weird flavours, but the chips were delicious. Mum said her fish tacos were nice. Daddy had about 9 pieces of chicken (not 9 whole chickens) and maybe 10 beers. Just kidding.More
The first thing i noticed was the lack of masks, none of the staff wore them and they didn't make people waiting for takeaway wear them either, a clear violation of the law during increasing omicron covid cases. The ordering system was confusing and contradicted...the way set by the menu. The menu lacked all drink choices, although a small issue compared to other concerns. The food took ages to arrive, the chicken was dry and overcooked, the boneless chicken was filled with bones, the burger bun was dry and cakey; maybe toasting it would save it a little. As well as the service and food, the tables were sticky and in dire need of redoing. The music was loud and overbearing with an interesting choice of radio station containing many distracting ads. Overall this is one of the most disappointing restaurants I have visited in my life, after half eating my burger I feel sick hours later. The only saving grace was the hot chips were of good quality. Will not be going again and do not recommend.More
Went there recently on recommendation from a friend. I'm not a food snob and don't normally write reviews, but for the price, average food at best and service extremely slow. Location good, but doesn't make up for the quality of food and service. I get...that you're on Straddy time, but really not worth the money.More
Me- vegetarian- tofu burger- delicious but decadent. Karage tofu- who knew? Our 9yo daughter- doesn’t eat chicken- ordered fish, chips and salad- adult size- ate the whole thing. My husband- fried chicken connoisseur- hot wings, 1/2 chicken- original, slaw, chips, hot sauce washed down with...Straddie IPAs. Best night of his life! It’s not for those without an appetite. Staff were so friendly. Almost American style hospitality. We’ll be back!More
Forget all the slightly negative stuff, this is a great spot serving fantastic chicken. The staff and their friendliness was really refreshing after some places we had been to. The hot wings and burgers are to die for.
We popped in for a quick lunch and discovered a beautiful space up on the 1st floor with windows opening out to the beach through the follage. We both ordered the Straddie Crispy Chicken Burger, some fries and drinks. Service was prompt. The venue also...has a bar and a great atmosphere thanks to the music.More
After reading previous reviews I had great expectations, but left feeling very disappointed- took 90 mins to get our meal after making a 6.30pm reservation. Fish tacos were on the special board, and happily taken as our order, but after 50 mins informed that they...are actually unavailable. Vespa Club Brisbane members met here for dinner after attending an annual scooter rally. It was a group of 28 people and Stan’s Chicken provided excellent service and excellent meals for a very reasonable price. The dining area is large and has a fabulous view...of the ocean and great sea breezes through their massive sliding windows. Highly recommend trying this place. Great for families too.More
This place is great - quality food and really nice staff. Perfect range of beers. Magical ocean view outside the wide, open windows. Let's start with the name: it tells you pretty much all you need to know! But they also have delicious vego options....If you like the basics done well - chips cooked to perfection; fresh ingredients on the burger - then this is the place.More
We didn't actually try the chicken, but enjoyed gazing at the beach through the trees, and choosing from a really nice range of beers - Italian, American, Japanese, local brews. The service was laid back, efficient and cheerful, the place was very clean and covid-conscious,...and the chips were good. Oh, and don't be fooled by the name - there is a good vegetarian option. It's not pretentious but the location, the range and the beer, all at a reasonable price, mean it's a lot more than we were expecting. It doesn't get five stars just because it's not 'fancy'.More
Located at the Anchorage resort, Sam's Chicken and Beer is a comfort food stop for all the family. Not particularly healthy, buy delicious and a bit naughty to enjoy when on holidays. We purchased a whole box of marinated, deep fried chicken (like KFC) which...was promptly devoured by the kids. We went for lunch, the service was basic and the bill on the upper end, so don't have high expectations of feeding the family with value for money. Think of it more like buying lunchtime holiday convenience.More
Very relaxed cool atmosphere, low key easy eating. Very tasty dishes. Nice cold beer. Definitely worth a visit. Emma even helped us with an IPhone problem. Thank you Stan's Chicken Bar.

We'd been suggested to stop by at Stan's, and after a hard day fishing offshore in terrible weather I really didn't feel like cooking. Decor is simple but bright and functional. Kid friendly, with attentive staff. Food was largely great value, simple but prepared well....I had the 20 drummettes for $20 that was very good value, my wife had the karaage that was more a tapas dish despite being marketed as a main. Chips were very nicely fried, slaw could have done with more acidity. Drinks weren't badly priced and overall well worth a visit - an affordable oasis at Point Lookout that usually attracts tourist trap pricing.More
