We visited in the hope of a drink and a bite to eat in the sunshine in the beer garden...instead we were met with the landlady in a tracksuit shouting at the landlord from outside to open the pub as he was in the shower at 6.15pm...the beer garden looked like a playground on a council estate...when we finally got... Visited here today for the first time and I have to say how nice it was to have such a warm welcome. As explained by the lovely Nita, Winter is a quieter time but she welcomed us with open arms and went out of her way to accommodate us. The pub itself is a lovely homely traditional pub with open... Went for the first time today, had a lovely Sunday Roast Beef dinner, nice veg, great gravy and lovely mash! My nan had the lamb she said it was also lovely and she managed a pudding, even though I was so full I could not. The portion was very generous. Would highly recommend, we will be back!

Fine dining certainly not. Good food and company YES YES YES. This couple reach the parts other pubs do not reach. This traditional pub just welcomes the customers and Bill and Nita just go with the flow. They showed us a menu but also said if there was something we wanted that was not on it then just ask. I... Well. It's an odd mix. Ordered a few drinks and asked what food they did. Told anything we want! Errr. A menu would be good. We did get one that had stuff crossed off and spelling mistakes. Come on get that right. Just print off some more. Pate to start which was store bought and just above average. Buy better.... More

Visited for the first time. What a beautiful country pub in a lovely location. Set in open countryside, yet a short drive from Wolverhampton. The hosts were lovely and made us feel very welcome. The food was superb and very reasonably priced. Will definitely be returning.

we arrived around 4.15 - there was no-one in the bar - and asked if they were still serving food. The chap behind the bar made a big show of looking at his watch and mumbled yes - as if it was all a bit too much trouble. We had not been before and I happened to ask how to... More

Excellent service, very friendly staff. The nice lady who worked there took the time to talk to us about the menu, and explain each dish. Not only that, she said she would be able to make a dish to however we want it. The food was delicious, we had a veggie burger, steak and ale pie and 2 roast chicken... More
