Sunday lunch was to a good standard, the pub is cosy and the staff friendly. The terraced garden is very pretty with nice hanging baskets. Lunch was very good value and the pub has good beer. Well worth a visit.

Was lovely sitting outside in the sun with the views. They put an enormous amount of time into the garden, all the baskets look wonderful. Lunch we ordered salads and sandwiches all reasonable priced and a good size. We will be going back again.

Having just read the review of the Crooked Billet by Mr Fenton in August I strongly disagree with his comments regarding the "frozen fish". I happened to be at the bar when Mr Fenton complained about his fish. He had already eaten over three quarters of the fish and was complaining about a little bit of the tail that he... More

We have often gone here for a Sunday lunch. It has always been friendly and quite pleasant. There now seems to be a new male barman who is certinaly not too friendly. When I rang to enquire about booking a table he was rude on the phone. In the pub both times we have visited since he is surly and... More

The setting of this pub, just on the Chiltern Way could not be better. The building is cute, and old, and the garden is spectacular. We found the food to be average to below average (the ploughmans was pathetic). What really spoilt this impromtu lunch out was the landlady, she could not have been more miserable if she had tried.... More

We stopped off at this gorgeous little pub to try it out. We often visit Marlow and sample the pubs. This one looked a real gem. The front garden was festooned with flowers, and the oak beamed pub was just gorgeous. But.........we had fish and chips and our fish was cooked at one end, uncooked at the other (see other... More

A nice little gaff serving good food and fine beer with a loverly garden area . The place is run by a strange but oddly likeable fellow by the name of William Greenberg , Sir William , to give him his proper title , is a renowned and very heavy gambler and tipster who has often been known to bet... We often stop here for lunch, the food is excellent, and service is great. It is a beautiful old country pub and the garden is beautiful so well looked after the plants are so pretty, and a lovely place to sit and enjoy a drink on a hot summers day.

We were walking the Chiltern way and stopped here for lunch. The surroundings are excellent. Lovely old fashioned building. Lots of atmosphere. We both had fish and chips. Unfortunately one portion was cold in the centre and not cooked. Fish was raw in the centre. Told the lady in charge and she could see it wasn't cooked. Very little reaction.... More

Every now and then when we fancy something hale and hearty we plod off to this pub. There bacon and egg sandwiches on white bloomer are a large, inexpensive delight.
