Having just visited the Masons for the second time, it once again lived up to expectations. As long as you don't set these to high you will not be disappointed. Tables are a bit cramped up and they do cram you in, but overall I would recommend it.

I cant fault the quality of the food here and the menue is interesting and beautifully cooked. Naturally being by the sea it makes use of the freshest fish and local produce.

Lovely crab sandwich ... although prefer they did without the salad stuff on the plate. Just great bread and crab that all that's needed and then perhaps the cost could be more reasonable. Went mid afternoon to avoid the crowds and lovely to sit outside and watch the world go by .. all though tourists who can't drive through narrow... More

Very attractive pub both inside and out, in a small, prettily quaint village less than 10 minutes walk from a beautiful pebble beach and stunning coastal walks. Inside is an impressive old fireplace, outside there's a lovely suntrap to enjoy! A large group of us had lunch here last weekend, and everyone had good things to say about their food.... More

For our weekday lunch, we sat in the bar, which has a real fire and lots of interesting alcoves. There is also a restaurant and outside seating. A good selection of food and several beers on tap. Everyone enjoyed their food, the fish and chips was particularly good. Puddings were also excellent. It's a nice level walk from here down... More

We are back in Devon again, we visited Masons arms three times during this week. We had incredible seafood stew, great red snapper with potato rosti (absolutely delicious!) and last night John Dory with herby risotto. Menu changed daily giving us great choice of different dinners, all were very tasty and imaginative, staff also very friendly and attentive. Definitely my... More

We popped in here for lunch today, arrived at about 12.30, we were able to take our well behaved dog in the bar area. Shortly after we arrived the place filled up. The service we received was first class from the bar to the waiting staff. Very polite and helpful the food was hot on arrival, well presented, large portions... More

Had a lovely meal here whilst staying at the hotel, it gets very busy though so make sure you book. Attentive staff and a cosy atmosphere.

Description
Nestling in the heart of Branscombe, one of Britain's most picturesque villages, is the award winning, 14th Century, The Masons Arms. This charming thatched Inn dates back to 1350 - a cider house turned country pub - and the men who cut the stone for Exeter Cathedral drank here, hence the name.

With only a leisurely ten minute stroll to Branscombe Beach, The Masons Arms offers an ideal base to escape the stresses of modern life and enjoy the magical vista of sea, beaches and the spectacular walks offered by the ninety five miles of Devon and Dorset's Jurassic Coast.

The authentic interiors ooze character with timber frames, low beamed ceilings, pine cladding, whitewashed walls and a huge roaring log fire. Our award winning Restaurant offers an exciting and creative menu in relaxed fine dining surroundings. The Masons Arms kitchen brigade are dedicated to sourcing the very best of local Dartmoor produce. The cooking is classy yet simple, perfect for a special meal or relaxing Country lunch. We serve as many as six locally brewed bitters and the finest wines from around the world.

The 21 bedrooms at the Masons Arms Branscombe, are cosy, stylish and inviting, blending comfort with character.

The Masons Arms has been awarded a FOUR STAR rating under the Inn category by Quality in Tourism.
