During our 2 week stay in SMA, we ate at La Alborada twice AND did take out twice as well. My husband is a pozole lover, like many reviewers below, and he LOVED LOVED LOVED theirs. Both times we ate there we were what appeared to be the only non-locals dining, so that really made us feel like we were... More

This place is just around the corner from the main square and attracts domestic and foreign tourists, alike. The menu isn't extensive but they have very tasty enchiladas and pozole. Spicy, but not overwhelming. They also have litres of 'michilada' beer for only $50 MXP. This local haunt is unpretentious, but serves good-quality local specialities. Sit inside or on their... Since we've arrived to San Miguel de Allende, our search for pozole has been paramount! La Alborada has checked our search- a success! Thank you for the great customer service and food!

Food is still very good, service in the other hand has declined. Had to wait 50 min. for our food, according to the waiter the kitchen was slammed. Curiously the owners had family arriving as we had waited for 40 min. already and were served immediately the same pozole plates we ordered. Had to ask for beverages two times as... More

We had been to this restaurant before and had been happy with food and the only moderate overpricing for San Miguel. When we got to the restaurant the menu had been reduced to half the dished and the prices had been jacked up by 10 - 15%. When we asked we were told politely that the menu had been changed... More

Awesome little, charming place, not touristic but favorite of many locals. The food is real Mexican and non-pretentious. The enchiladas, pozole and breaded chicken are the best.

With so many wonderful restaurants to visit in this town, when looking for authentic Mexican food, La Alborada is definitely not on my list anymore. Food doesn't feel fresh, and service is non existent, considering the owner is probably one of the worst hosts I've been greeted by. Prices have gone particularly high considering the quality, and quantity of the... More

I pounce on restaurants but not this one. Try the green sauce tamales. Yum. Die hard Mexico City critics will admit these are special. You get a plate of four for 80 Pesos. The pozole wasn't as good as I'd hoped but the service is unfailingly courteous. The side sauces are profound.

We went on a Weeday, late afternoon. Small restaurante with good service. My mom had the pozole, it was piping and good. I had tostadas. A shredded beef tostada and a pickled pig feet tostada. So good. The pig feet meat was chopped up, vinegary and clean. The tostadas were huge. This restaurant is small, decorated very colorful. The service... More
