This is in the top two or three of my favorite San Miguel restaurants. It is charming. Great attention has been given to creating a warm, even embracing ambience. The two owners ( the first two letters of their names spell MURO) make you feel genuinely welcome. This carries over to the entire staff. You will be welcomed by most... More

We first had breakfast here last year while visiting San Miguel during Dia de los Muertos week. The food was so good that when we recently returned to San Miguel this past week it was on our must list for a return visit. This visit did not disappoint! The food was again very tasty and offered some interesting regional culinary... More

Have been there twice for lunch and had very good food. We were greeted like we were old friends. The lunch specials were great and a great value! Being a dessert person, I have to say their key lime pie and Tres Leche cake were outstanding. Highly recommended!

Stopped for lunch today. Glad we have 2 more weeks here. Can't wait to return. Lovely staff. The chile Muro was wonderful. I didn't know what Hbiscus sauce was and the very nice waiter brought me a sample. SOLD!!! My husband loved the eggs Benedict with Avacado. We will return...and return

There is this famous quote that says, "All happiness depends on a leisurely breakfast." This is the summary of my breakfast at "El Muro". From the home-made bread, the home-made jam (made with fruits and hot pepper??), everything that they make in this place is exquisite. The chef/owner greets every single person and asks if we are fine. I have... More

Just returned from lunch at Muro. This little spot has a charming atmosphere and is decorated well. The service was excellent with all the staff working together to ensure service is top notch. The pre set lunch menu was delicious and offered at a reasonable price. It is a very clean restaurant and one does not feel rushed to free... More

The breakfast menu is very good. The eggs Benedict was excellent, with the egg cooked just right. Finding a good poached egg in San Miguel is not easy so if you like them this is the place. The service was fast and professional.

Our food seemed like a weak attempt at good cuisine. The best theory on why this place is highly recommended on trip advisor is because the city is popular with people unfamiliar with Mexican food. If you love Mexican, give this place a pass.

My wife and I ate here in December 2014 and then returned in December 2015. We were both quite enthusiastic the first time. My wife didn't really like her meal the 2nd time, although I did enjoy the same dish, the special of the day. The restaurant is nicely decorated with Mexican folk art, and the service is attentive. I... More

We spent a week in San Miguel de Allende last January (2015) and discovered el Muro. We ended up eating there for three days in a row. After visiting Mexico City, Oaxaca Riviera Maya and Vailladolid, we found the menu and the food at El Muro to be among the best in Mexico. The menu changes every day and they... More
