Attended a fabulous anniversary celebration at The Restaurant and we took up the entire place. The food was awesome they offered several options, which is fairly rare for a large group. Service was top notch and a great time was had by all.

I have to admit a pre-visit bias about this place due to the audacity to name itself "The Restaurant". But we went anyways on the advice of Americans now living in SMA. Disclaimer: I went there on their Hamburger night. But I still don't get...More

We loved the setting and food at The Restaurant, a sort of al fresco atrium behind big wooden doors on Canal. Chef lets the food speak for itself, and we loved every bite.

The Restaurant is in a beautiful setting with good food. The portions are large and the dishes are inventive. My favorite is the duck, although it was not in the menu the last time we were here.

This place is known for its burgers, and it is definitely worth a try, but the manager did not exactly plan for a party of twenty. Apparently there were two "Lisa's" having days... and one of the groups was "deleted" ... so we had to...More

Many reviews say this is the very best of San Miguel. I am vegan and the chief came out and asked me what I wanted as no vegan items on menu. I didn't really know what he could come up with so I told him...More

While visiting San Miguel, we went to The Restaurant mostly based on prior TripAdvisor reviews. They were spot on in assessing this restaurant. We reserved online while in the US and received an email confirmation. Our party of four had several different entrees and all...More

The food here is always dynamite; the setting delightful, and the service excellent. It is quite expensive by San Miguel standards. We spent over a 1200 pesos for 1 appetizer, 1 main and 2 drinks. As others have said, the food is very well prepared....More

A simple name "The Restaurant" with extremely complicated food, layers of flavor and a delight to view. Service was wonderful and very knowledgeable. One sits in an outside courtyard as you walk into a place that is an era many decades ago. The service reflects...More

Most restaurants include this tax in their prices...so you don't see it. It's up to them to pay it. The Restaurant puts this price on top of their prices, so you see this value added tax (IVA).

Description
THE RESTAURANT, housed in one of San Miguel’s most elegantly colonial settings at Sollano 16, opened in February 2008 featuring Chef Donnie Masterton’s world class cuisine. It is located just steps away from the main square of San Miguel de Allende, the prettiest and most restored/written-about Colonial city in all of Mexico. Offering a full bar, it serves lunch and dinner five days a week in a sun-dappled eighteen century Moroccan courtyard, as well as in their elegant dining salon.Serving global comfort good, THE RESTAURANT’s menu reflects the changing seasons with a focus on the simplicity of fine ingredients. The Chef collaborates with local organic growers, dairy farmers and ranchers to procure the freshest, highest quality and responsibly raised product available. Catering to today’s more experienced, adventurous and health conscious diners, The Restaurant will emphasize quality in food and customer service…as well as a more involved relationship with respect to our food and the land it comes from.
