Some fellow travelers had been here and suggested it for more authentic food. It is a popular place with locals and it can be hard to get a table at times. We ordered the meals that were 55 pesos (at the time of publishing this review). It included a large refresco frutas - fruit juice. I had the pineapple, it... More

This place does the best breakfast and lunch, it's a local place, cheap, no frills, amazing food. I'd recommend sopes, panuchos, salbutes and the carne asada though everything is really good.

If you want to try a real traditional tulum food, this is the place to go! The food is traditional, the agua de frutas are amazing and fresh, the people are very kind and honest! Not a gringos place 😊 i suggest to try enchilladas de mole..wooow! It is very cheap and the quantity of food is xxl! Definitely the... More

We have eaten here twice and both times were impressed with the food. Fast, hot, fresh and tasty. The salbutes, tostadas and sobes were really good and only 7 pesos each. The atmosphere is typical of an authentic cheap place, hot and sticky, but for the food and price, it's not an issue. We saw many locals eating here which... More

Loved this restaurant so much that we came for dinner 2 nights in a row! Super authentic, delicious, and cheap! Get the al pastor tacos, pollo panuchos, and piña y chaya agua fresca. Panuchos are like tostadas with blacks beans between the crispy tortillas topped with shredded chicken, pickled onions, cabbage, tomato, and avocado...amazing! The al pastor tacos were flavorful,... We ended up eating here three times in the week that we stayed. HUGE agua frescas for $35 pesos? YES PLEASE. The only downside and I really, really, really hope the owners/operators see this is that underneath that plastic tarp it is like being cooked in a crock pot and they need to add at least three or four more... I was introduced to this restaurant on my last night in Tulum and what a shame that was because I would have eaten here every day if I could have! The food is amazing, arrives fast, and is SO INEXPENSIVE: a big authentic meal and a drink, 100 pesos. This is the perfect place to sample a variety of authentic... More

Ignore the reviews about "hygiene alert" - the fact is this is an authentic Mexican restaurant that isn't catering to tourists and therefore isn't decorated or designed to please them. It's straight up, it's hot, it's all outdoors and many of the staff speak little to no English. That being said - the food was the BEST WE'VE HAD in... More

Don't get me wrong... I love the local Mexican places, the little holes-in-the-walls where the locals like to dine. We read about this place on TripAdvisor so we thought we'd give it a try. Maybe we just caught it on a bad day, but our waiter was miserable and had no patience for us whatsoever. He also didn't even realize... More

My boyfriend and I went to El Rincon Chiapeneco from the recommendation of a taxi driver. We ate the vegatarian tacos and they were delicious!
