I asked if it was possible to have the fish in wine sauce with mushrooms because it appeared separate on the menu. The very Itailian cook said he could do that. $140 pesos (no extra charges). My delisous fish was served covered with mushrooms, so good. My wife had the shrimp in brandy sauce. We explained to the waiter and... More

I had gnocci with gorgonzola and they were awesome; margaritas and cuba libres were on offer (2 for 1 = 65 Pesos); Alex, the owner, was very attentive and made sure his customers were happy at all times; we got a shot of tequila on the house

Some people recommended this place and raved about the fresh pasta, and they weren't wrong! I came here twice. Only the fettuccini, ravioli and gnocchi is handmade. Note; the spaghetti isnt. First time I had the ravioli and second time I had the crab pasta special. The cran special was supposed to come with spaghetti, but I asked if i... More

We went to trattoria Romana because of the good ratings in tripadvisor, only to find out the the gnocchi were poorly cooked, the risotto didn't have the right consistency and the sauce and cheese tasted like the canned kind that is sold in the supermarket. Wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.

We went twice because an Italian friend recommended it. I am from Rome and I couldn't believe my mouth. The real Spaghetti alla carbonara with the real homemade "guanciale". And good Parmigiano. Huge plate (250 grams of pasta) it was a full meal. Time and space just disappeared. I was 7.000 km away in my hometown again. The second night... More

Best Penne vodka. Not a huge selection but very authentic. Alex is from Rome Italy and much of these sauces are his Grandmothers recipes. If you want Italian this is a very good choice. La posada on the beach had tons of reviews, my opinion is it was very overrated.

We tried this restaurant after having visiting the much hyped Posada Margherita on the beach and hands down this place beats the latter for food, service and value for money. Homemade pasta, abundant choices, Alessio is very attentive - would defo recommend if you're looking for a break from local cuisine!

It is rare to find authentic pasta in Tulum. This place got it. The owners are Italians and brought their family receipies over, what a great move!! Besides that La Trattoria Romana has the same charme than a small Restaurant in Rome. When you are in town give it a try and let Alessio recommend you the special of they... More

We ended up here on our last night in Tulum. We had planned to eat elsewhere but that restaurant was closed on Sunday nights. They recommended we try Trattoria Romana. It was poring rain as we ran into the restaurant and we received a very warm welcome even with the chaos of everyone trying to escape the weather. We were... More
