We three British middle aged guys were on our way from Majahual to Coba via Limones and Tulum using Mayan and ADO buses and coaches. We arrived in Tulum (we had stayed here earlier in our trip but only went to a few places) and were hungry as no proper breakfast and a not very nice meat bun from a... More

We got in Tulum in the late afternoon, after catching the red-eye down. By the time we were ready for dinner, we were really tired so just wanted a little something to get us through until breakfast. We stumbled upon Dona Tina's and what a find it was! We both had tostados, which while a little on the small side,... More

This is the place that looks less like a restaurant and more like a home. Has very casual feel and the food is very locan and delicious. They have daily specials and I had Pollo Adobo. SO YUMMMY. The staff treats you as their own guest rather than a customer. While I was there a bunch of locals stopped by... More

We felt very much at ease here, even though I think everyone was a regular except us. The place managed to have a pleasant through current of air even in the midday 40°C heat. No pretentiousness at all here so don't go looking for fine dining. But it was a cut above the tacos and fajitas available everywhere. We were... More

Very reasonably priced Yucatecan food, the frijol con puerco on Mondays is a traditional dish that should not be missed. The lomitos de Valladolid are also delicious. For breakfast I love the longaniza and scrambled eggs and the huevos motulenos. Lunch with a soft drink or water for 80 pesos, cannot be beat!!!

As part of our day trip to the cenotes, we were to finish with lunch (at our own expense) in the town of Tulum. For some reason, our guide, who was relatively new to the company, was not aware of the lunch portion of the tour and had to call the central office. We told her that we wanted authentic... More

The restaurant looks humble under a simple palapa, The food is simply delicious. We ordered "sopa de lima" (chicken lime soup) and cochinita pibil (baby pork cooked with traditional spices). Both dishes were very tasty. The place is clean, and the prices are truly cheap. Not to be missed if in Tulum. Dona Tina does not cook anymore as she... More

Wonderful local food. Best guacamole for my whole Mexico visit. Reasonably priced. Great menu choices.

Yes, the service may be a bit slow, but in my opinion it just adds to the charm and authenticity of the place. We visited here twice in 5 days, once for breakfast and once for lunch. For lunch we had the pollo adobo, house chicken, which was amazing. The meat fell right off the bone and the sauce was... More
