I already reviewed Amaro, but since we go there every night of our vacation in Merida, not necessary to eat, but also to enjoyed some of their wonderful "Margaritas Rocas y sin sal" I can say it is still one of our favorite in town if not the favorite. Ambiance is fabulous, Tony Martin the Trova is exceptional, the staff... More

Lunch was vegetarian fare and well presented. Dining is in the courtyard. Prices were a bit higher than some other fine restaurants by about $100 pesos average.

Good food but nothing special, no big portions, not cheap. Good singer, nice atmosphere right in downtown.

This is a restaurant featuring authentic local Yucatecan cuisine. The food was very good and the atmosphere in the evening is great. It is in the courtyard of Quintana Roo's house so the history as well is great. They often have live music which only adds to the romanticism of the place. I found the waitstaff to be attentive and... More

The setting at Amaro's was promising, with a cute courtyard but there was no atmosphere the evening that my boyfriend and I went there (maybe this was just bad luck). We wanted a light meal, since we'd been eating out for the past 10 days so we ordered a salad each, expecting a large salad in view of the price.... More

it seemed creepy -- weird descriptions of the food, and it was advertised as being vegetarian friendly, but i had trouble finding anything vegetarian that seemed at all appealing.

Liked the outdoor courtyard. Very pretty. Good, attentive service by older gentleman. A little pricey for what we got, but ok - we're on vacation. My gazpacho was very different from mine, but it was cold and tasty. Michael had a lasagna that he said was very good.

The atmosphere was wonderful - sitting in the courtyard with a folk singer performing and art around the perimeter! The food was excellent and we were not rushed. We are not lovers of spicy food and the food here was perfect. Don't hesitate to dine here!

Got here early one night to let our food digest before the music started but the music turned out to be a great low-key singer with acoustic guitar that didn't intrude. The guacamole pizza is great and the berenjenas rellenas were nice and plain if that's your thing. Also had guacamole, but you can't go wrong here. Deserts were also... More
