Nice ambience, a beautiful courtyard setting with a musician singing and playing his guitar. Excellent service and good food for a reasonable price. The chicken mole was excellent.

If you like flavorful food skip this place. We found the food to be tasteless. We had the fajitas, basically plain grilled chicken. Drinks are good. Service attentive. Atmosphere pleasant.

The restaurant is located very near the central plaza but with a nondescript entrance, that can be easy to miss. Quintana Roo's former residence converted to a restaurant, Amara maintains its colonial roots. The service is pretty fast, food very tasty and well priced. Being so close to the center it is really an ideal lunch place to get away... More

Read about this restaurant on our travel book. There it was said to be a bit expensive what it was not. You can eat here under the stars. That night there was a singer who played also the guitar. Food was very good. The tips were included in the bill. The service was not good neither bad.

Wonderful resturant, nice atmosphere, clean and great food. The first night had a amazing fruit salad and a good Ceasars salad. Went back the next night and ordered a spinich lasagna which was great. Only one small complaint and that is there bottled water bottles are small, maybe 10 Oz and I'm a fish so I have to order two... More

Not sure why this is so highly rated unless it is the vegan niche. The high TA rating is how we picked Amaro and it represents a case of the masses approving mediocrity. The place is ok, with decent food and most menu items reasonably priced. Lobster and steak were both tough / chewy. The Lobster prices are somewhat deceptive... More

Enjoyed the delicious food, in our case we found a section of menu vegetarian or veggies. ( Salads, Pasta, lasagna ,encoladas cheese Music creates a very nice atmosphere, enjoyed that you can have a nice conversation and listen to music with not much interference. Key recommendation : Reserve if it is an active season.
